As many predicted would happen the moment Wladimir Klitschko lost his belt, the Heavyweight Division became "interesting" again, seemingly overnight, it became the sexy and glamorous division that everyone wanted it to be once again. I guess having one dominant champion for 10 years destroying everyone in his path, yet everyone claim it as a weak era, and suddenly has the misfortune of running into a stylistic nightmare at the advanced age of 40 after being a pro for 20 years, and all of a sudden it becomes the strongest era since the mid 90's. Yeah bull****. The reality is, its competitive once again, because there is no dominant champion who seems incapable of losing, all of the undefeated guys who a top the division all are unproven and seem fragile in one way or another. Deontay is heavy handed as hell but lacks the fundamentals and probably the chin, Joshua while in my opinion a product of PED's more than anything, is still learning on the job and has a long way to go before becoming an unstoppable force, his chin is badly in need of protection and the first skilled fighter who can land a flush bomb and follow it up may very well take him out. Tyson Fury is not the second coming, he was just a bad style clash for Wlad, his chin is still weak, and the moment he gets in there with someone who's not terrified of being KO'd and applies intelligent aggression, he may be in trouble.

Luis Ortiz has an impressive win against Jennings, but I think that stems from overconfidence on Bryant's part, he thought just because he fought an incredibly cautious almost riskless fight and survived against a Wlad that had trouble pulling the trigger, he could go out and roughhouse with a big burly KO artist like King Kong Ortiz, and he paid dearly for that miscalculation. How real is Ortiz? I think he's the real deal but it's still too soon to know, no one has truly tested his chin, he may very well be packing some fine Cuban China, it wouldn't be shocking. Charles Martin while I think is the real deal and has a very underrated skillset, most aren't convinced due to the fact that everyone hated Glazkov and wanted to see him lose, and he managed to win in the worst way imaginable, that being said had the Glazkov match never occurred I'd have put Martin high on this list, but now he's a champion so I can't rank him as a prospect anymore. As for the rest of the fighters in the top 30, most of them are fairly pitiful and past it shells of has-beens or never-was' with the exception of Povetkin, Helenius, Browne, Chagaev and David Haye and a few others, who can still possibly make an impact in the current landscape.

So on to my list, these guys I think have a real chance of being breakout stars of the future and with the exception of the guy at number, probably many have heard very little about. Since Usyk is not officially a Heavyweight, I won't be including him on my list, but if I did it would be near the top.

Top 10 Heavyweight Fighters To Watch-Professional.

    1. Joseph Parker-The most well rounded of all young new up and coming Heavies, he's a big puncher, has decent defense, entertaining style, very agile for a big man, and has good stamina, he's handsome, fairly charismatic and can easily become a international star. He's the epitome of an all around future threat.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfoRlzjMij4

    2. Adrian Granat-Gigantic Swede is the total package, he's defensively responsible, using his height and reach to his advantage effectively, a KO artist who hits like a Mack Truck, fun to watch, he along with Parker are most likely capable of beating a ranked top 20 fighter right now.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Odvt7XTq1IA

    3. Izuagbe Ugonoh-Lean, tall, rangy, hard hitting Nigerian who's fast and incredibly agile for his height, he's improving in many departments and becoming a solid all around offensive fighter. And with his fan friendly fights and KO's he may soon be a regular on big televised undercards.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMM8jnEHzkg

    4. Oscar Rivas-Small compact, vicious fighter with a wicked overhand right, while his height may work against him when some of the giants at HW, Rivas still is adept at landing even on the big guys, so it would be naïve to write him off. he's got a tiny bit of Tyson by way of Jean Pascal in him.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akG_1J1L8nI

    5. Oleksandr Teslenko-Fit hard hitting Ukrainain offensive machine, he works behind his jab very well, cuts the distance, and has a sound defense, impressive punch selection and very accurate, at ony a mere 2 fights in, it might be presumptuous, but I know talent when I see it.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnYWHAkoAds

    6. Hughie Fury-Hughie has the potential to be as good if not better than Tyson, he's more accurate at his age that Tyson was, he works the body well, he's fast has good head movement, and is more exciting than his cousin as well, although lacks the power, which means he's fairly featherfisted for a HW.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJSY88baaGI

    7. Tom Schwarz-Well rounded German, with a somewhat questionable chin, is good at most things but incredible at nothing but just solid enough to get the job done, he's skilled solid and potential pain in the ass and future player, but still fragile and should be managed with care.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5uaN3t7UIQ

    8. Christian Lewandowski-His shots sound like bombs going off, he's an offensive German machine, far more heavy handed than his somewhat dull brother Dennis, he has many of the qualities of Granat, he's a good combo puncher and is very accurate.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6MlCKCYE1M

    9. George Arias-Same as with Rivas this Domician New Yorker at only 6 feet tall, he may not make it far, but he's damn agile, has impressive head movement, is very fast and awkward as hell, one to keep an eye on, he'd probably make a fine Cruiser but with his bulky build he may have a hard time making 200.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aa9aM10fIxg

    10. Senad Gashi-Another short fighter but his all action style is reminiscent of Tyson by way of David Lemieux, he's an all out entertaining pressure fighter and could very well make for some damn entertaining HW fights with some of the smaller fighters in the division, probably more well suited for Cruiserweight.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sILem8rsTTU

There's a few other fighters worth mentioning that are quite promising Robert Alfonso, John Wesley Nofire, Willis Meehan and Hemi Ahio and a few others.

America's scene is horrid at the moment aside from Martin and Wilder, we have nothing to get all too excited about, Breazeale, Miller, Kownacki, Washington, Bryan and Lippe-Morrison are far from impressive and are various levels of sloppy, awful, dull, bad stamina, out of shape, and overall very uninspiring.

Many Euro-Heavies are just as disappointing in my book, Dinu, Wallisch, Kuzmin, Wallin, Gjergjaj all put on fair dull affairs, lacking power and put forth half hearted performances that are usually not worth watching. Not that any of them are lacking skill but they just lack heart, intensity, drive.

The Chinese scene, which is quite new, is abhorrent, Junlong Zhang, has a very padded record and is too old to make an impact, Zhang Zhilei is the most promising of the Chinese but I'm not thrilled with him either, he may be packing glass, and Taishon Dong is a joke.

The division is more exciting due to Wlad being toppled, and it is on the upswing somewhat, but it become very interesting if many of the top amateurs decide to turn pro after 2016, the whole landscape at Heavy could shift dramtically.

    Amateur Prospects To Watch
List based on how I think they'll do as pros.

    1. Magomedrasul Medzhidov-Big brawny brutal stiff and most importantly exciting and very fan friendly beast from Azerbaijan has a style ready made for the pros, If and when he turns pro he'll be a welcome addition to the pro ranks.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6HG65S4Y5I
    2. Filip

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrfkKGclC6M
    3. Magomed Omarov- He's already a monster in the making, he's beaten great Italian amateur Roberto Cammarelle and beat once but also twice beaten by the great Medzhidov but he got to him in the third round bloodying him up and busting his nose in AIBA in 2013 he's another in a long line of Dagestan region born fighters on the scene lately alongside Artur Beterbiev.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4Pdgt7fSD0
    4. Erislandy Savon-Unfortunately even with the thawed relations with Cuba, there's no guaranteeing he'll ever turn pro, he may remain an amateur like his ATG amateur uncle Felix, he beat Joshua easily but got robbed, he's slick, fast agile and would be a handful if he were to ever turn pro.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDwXEEXOM8M
    5. Ivan Dychko-Tall, rangy, athletic Kazakh who bears a slight resemblance with Vitali, with his fair share of Gold Medals, I worry for his chin if he were to turn pro since he was brutally KTFO by Medzhidov, but if he can avoid that he's good.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1d49GoSc_Y
    6. Vasili Levit-He's a solid, fast and agile but somewhat on the short side, he may turn pro at Cruiser, but could possibly make an impact in either division. He's Kazakh and aggressive as hell, he has a win over Savon, but he's getting old, he needs to turn pro already, he has a style made for them.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icuhgPwlaVc
    7. Evgeny Tishchenko-He has fast hands, moves in a very fluid fashion for someone who is 6'4, decent footwork, good combinations, although he could learn to use his height to his advantage a little better and fight tall. Is still young with room for improvement but has great potential.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9q8RdKrep4
    8. Tony Yoka-He was stopped brutally by Savon but he pulled himself up by the bootstraps and honed his craft and got a lot better, so much better in fact that he just became the AIBA SHW Champion and has a surefire ticket to the 2016 Rios Olympics. And he did it by taking out three top amateurs in succession Hrgovic his former conqueror, Joyce who rocked him badly and finally by toppling Dychko. So if he keeps on this path he may eventually become the Gold Medalist in 2016.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrFW5qOSdDU
    9. Alexei Egorov-Aggressive volume punching Russian, he may be a little on the small side to turn pro at HW maybe he should start as a Cruiser and work his way up, he's still quite young and has a ton of potential.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJTtzk29JJo
    10. Joe Joyce-Could JJ be the next AJ? He's huge he has pretty good stamina he works behind his jab quite well, he has relatively fast hands for a big man, he tends to bounce around a little too much, wasting his energy unnecessarily but his footwork is decent, he gets hit way too much, which is troubling since he has been knocked out before. That's no reason to write him off many HW's are stopped in the ams, so its not that big of a deal.

    Good thread.

Another amateur HW worth keeping an eye on IMO is Gevorg Manukian. He's only 22 but he looks strong and powerful and he looks like he might make a quality pro one day. He's fought Oleksandr Teslenko (who I've never heard of prior to seeing this thread - he definitely looks promising) a few times in the Ukrainian nationals and it says he's 1-2 against him on his record (partial record). He beat Levit in last years world championships, although it was controversial and I felt Levit deserved it.

    Here's the fight

I didn't know anything about Teslenko either until about 4 months ago, but I saw that match on YT after seeing him ranked on Boxrec and I realized instantaneously the kid has a ton of talent. I've heard of Gevorg Manukian but haven't seen him yet, I'll check him out.:good He definitely looks the part.

Nobody on that list beats Joshua or Fury so they best head up Wilder's route.
