Are you trying to say his brain injury caused him to act ******ed and juice up and that a brain injury free Toney would not have chosen to take steroids?
Specifically the dirty test he had after beating Ruiz, my question is was it due to actual legitimate use? This video clearly shows he had almost nonexistant testosterone in his system, post fight he tested dirty for Stanozolol, which is synthetic testosterone. It's a possibility that he was on the stuff for legit reasons... I'm not saying anything about acting ******ed, rather I'm saying he may have started using steroids in response to pituitary damage he received, which his hormones were very ****ed up, as the doctors explained. I don't know if you've ever known someone with a severe testosterone deficiency, it causes horrible problems, not just small complications.
Toney had a torn bicep and used the steroid to accellerate the healing process, it was perscribed by a doctor. That said, he seems to have brain damage.
TRUTH and I was in the gym when this **** went down..... Everybody knew he was ****ing with that **** a couple weeks before the fight he was sparring Terry Smith, and a couple other guys, he dropped one of them and started to kick them while they were down yelling get up *****, get up! Everybody knew Toney was ****ing with that ****, anyhow after the results were released both the WBA and NYSAC were 100% okay with Toney being the winner and keeping the title as long as he could provide a letter from the Dr to confirm what Toney stated. That letter from the Dr was never sent because no Dr prescribed him the drugs.... which is exactly how and why Ruiz got his title back and a NC on his record.
In this video his own doctor is talking about how ****ed up his hormone levels are, I wonder why he didn't get a prescription? I'm amazed had been fighting for so long with pituitary damage, because when your hormones are ****ed up, you feel like total dog ****... Either way Toney deserved that win and the belt, I'm confident in saying I don't think he ever abused steroids, he had legitimate deficiencies he was medicating. He has always come off to me as a straightforward guy, old school, never ducked anyone etc... I don't see him as a cheater
Seriously Toneys Steroid abuse was openly discussed in the gym on a regular by all of the trainers including Freddy.... again if it was for medical purposes why didnt he produce the letter from the Dr that he said prescribed it? Easy answer no Dr is going to lie and risk their lively hood for James Toney.... He may have hormone issues now but that may also be a result of using that **** for as long as he had.... You dont have to believe a damn thing I am telling you its your choice in the end, but I think at the end of the day I will trust the words that came from People who were close to him....
It's not that I don't believe you at all, Toney very well may have used steroids, but I'm more asking if it was in response to real deficiencies he had? I think we can both agree for instance that trying to be a fighter having nearly non-existent testosterone levels would be difficult. His doctor in this video said he had damage to his pituitary gland, and the tests backed that up. This video says his results came BEFORE his fight with Ruiz, he had several different hormone deficiencies by that time; subsequently he tested dirty after the fight... It seems like a stern possibility he was using them to correct deficiencies, albeit not under the direction of a doctor, which I don't condone... I just think there might be more to it. Edit: Lets say he went into the Ruiz fight with hormone levels at the quantity shown on the test he took at the time, can we agree he'd be at a very severe disadvantage? I'm saying I think he may have been taking **** to counteract true deficiencies.
There is not more to it man he didnt even provide the commission with the injury report from his Dr confirming a torn bicep... much less the letter that proves he was prescribed the ****... it was a made up excuse when he got busted...
Right, but torn bicep or not, he undoubtedly has pituitary damage and horribly ****ed up hormone levels, which his doctor empirically confirms. He would absolutely be in need of hormone replacement to correct these deficiencies, those are serious issues, so I don't see why he had any trouble getting the proper hormone prescriptions? He clearly has legit issues.
He has legit issues as of late, if he wasnt ****ing with HGH or any other **** through out his career he likely wouldnt have had these problems, I like James man that guy can ****ing fight and is the funniest mother ****er I have ever met he holds nothing back. But the reality is he cheated in allot of his fights not just a few but allot of them.. you ever get a chance to come to Los Angeles drop by at Fortune boxing club in Hollywood talk to Maka Foley about James Toney he will tell you... so will ******
