I have to say, the "Hearns 2.0" buzz had me leery, but the kid does look the goods. Could workshop the fundamentals a bit, although he isn't the rawest 14-0 either. This content is protected This content is protected I think he's going to go a lot further than Sebastian Fundora, the other freakishly tall undefeated super welter. That'd be a fun prospect showdown, actually.
He only had a few dozen amateur fights but has been under the guidance of Ann Wolfe since pretty much his pro debut. He might just be the best ever lump of clay she's ever had in her stable to mold, and that includes James Kirkland (who despite how off the rails he went, did start out with a ton of potential...)
Casuals DKSAB. Kingry is AT BEST third best Golden Boy prospect on that list (behind Ortiz & Mazion) This content is protected Granted that poll was from nearly a year ago, tbf...which is before Mazion had fought Arnett or Zavala in his two biggest steps up and highest profile appearances to date.
Maziell is a good fither, probably a "will be champ" in the multi-belt era, but I prefer Fundora, slightly lower floor MUCH higher ceiling.
Um yeah but for having only had a few dozen amateur fights and barely over a dozen pro, he could be a lot sloppier, no? We certainly have seen much sloppier (despite being more experienced) prospects - and I can even think of certain past Ann Wolfe protégés that were easier to hit, especially this early in their career..
Oh yeah and the kid already has sponsorship deals with Everlast, and some "tart cherry juice" manufacturer. This content is protected This content is protected
