Big upset tonight with Trent Broadhurst being KO'd by kiwi Robert Berridge.
I thought the kiwi was unlucky against Foley on the Green Tarver UC but he pulled of a big upset knocking Trent down twice in rd 5 after Broadhurst seamed to be controlling the fight early with his reach.

Broadhurst wanted out in that fight tonight plain & simple. Great last shot by Berridge but Broadhurst could have at least attempted to get up if he wanted to.
He was up 20 secs later jumping around like nothing happened & that slightly slow count by the as usual incompetant Steve Marshall was also horrendous.

Another wonderful decision by QLD officials in the Nathan Carroll(Qld) fight with 1 of the Qld judges giving Leroy Brown (NSW) only 1 round...ridiculous.

Good stoppage in the fight by Adrian Cairns with Flanagan battering Russell in 1 round.

Also that womens fight Gaston vs George was 1 of the most painful fights to sit thru in years.

Totally agree about the judges and Leroy:deal
I was Also a bit stunned by Flanagan taking the junkyard dog in 1 rd:yikes
I went to get a drink just as it started i got back 30secs late and Russell was already in trouble.
As for Trent i saw him shake his head when the count got to 3 i knew he wasn't going to get up i think the 1st kd might have hurt him more than he let on.

Yeah couldnt believe the scoring on the Leroy Brown fight...so many punches he blocked & i wish FOX had Compubox (or the like) because Brown would have outlanded Carroll in at least 4 rounds!
I said to a mate this is in Qld watch Carroll steal the dodgy decision, nothing new really. I see it every 2nd or 3rd FOX show these days.

Flanagan looked great from the outset & staggered Russell numerous times in the 1 round.

Regarding Broadhurst he was going through the motions & when the 1st somewhat flash knockdown happened i thought he would wake up, but IMO he seemed to want out especially if u watch him when the refs count is at 5 in the 2nd knockdown & he sits up.
Broadhurst has all the physical tools in the world....heart cant be tought it comes from within.
I actually think Broadhurst could have gotten up if he wanted to.

so what are peoples thoughts on berridge? i thought he was a bit of a pumped up hypejob whod never really beaten anybody before he fought foley, but he impressed me in that fight and from the sounds of tonight he was impressive. Looks to have a bit of mongrel in him and i seem to recall hes pretty tough and can take a good shot

Dunno if there's any hype about him. I'd suspect few had heard of him before the Foley fight. He's a tough mofo that always comes to fight, that's for sure. Might be the last fight Ash ever matchmakes! :D

cmon, berridge belted foley who was much bigger than him and got robbed with draw because he in there state, broadhurst has been given a ride by dicarlo and his trainer is a good amateur trainer thats it,he had no idea howq to fight a southpaw,im happy cause i backed berriodge and i think he will upset alot more aussie fighters who have there paths pathed with gold, broadhurst be lucky to win aussie title as likes to party to much as for the other stable fighter ,who got stopped round 1 ,ul be lucky to c him win another fight unless his promoter sets him up with bum cause he a good ticket seller, arron russell that is ,waste of time

Broadhurst needed to fight to a plan, circle to his left and steer
    clear of Berridge left.

Both fighters are on the right track.

    Lol.

Didnt shaw sign broadhurst? Id say that contract is fish and chip paper now.

That was a lesson in attitude for trent. Was winning the fight but thought it was getting easy so he started to fight cocky and lost his concentration. Silly mind set against a puncher like berridge.

Trent learnt the hard way...stay focussed in the ring and dont get ahead of yourself.

Yeah TC whack it up please. Had to go to work so I missed the main. Yeah PJ I believe he was signed with Gary Shaw. Hopefully he learns a lot from the fight.
