Berbick just wasn't that good for a world champ. I'd pick '01 Holy over 86 Berbick too.

Holy all the way, never thought much of Berbick, his big win over a tarnished tate and an aged and shot Ali...Holfield should TKO Berbick

Berbick by points. Early 90s Holyfield would beat him by points tho

With the roids running through his veins giving him strength, Holyfield would destroy Berbick.

Berbick gets a bit underrated he went 15 tough rounds, with a prime Larry Holmes who was on top of his game. And also had great upset wins over Page, Tate, Thomas, and had a great war with Snipes. I think Berbick could make it interesting vs Holyfield, and give him a competitive fight. But overall i see Holyfield winning a clear UD but certainly not easily IMO.

Evander though past his prime was still serviceable in 1996. Trevor Berbick in 1986 had just scored his best win over Pinklon Thomas, but I don’t know if he was still prime then either. Still, you have two very tough veterans with good Chins and decent power along with plenty of experience going in together in this matchup. I can’t see Holyfield doing to Berbick what Tyson did as he simply didn’t have that kind of power or type of attack. And while Evander was past it by1996 I don’t know if Berbick could capitalize on it. But I can see a pretty tough brawl here that goes the distance in a crowd pleasing fight. I’m guessing Holy gets the decision.

On a side note these two men were among the last to ever compete in 15 round fights.

Holyfield takes a decision. Could be an entertaining fight in its own way. Berbick could be kind of unpredictable at times.
