    Page was right in the mix. They all beat and lost to others that beat and lost to others again. On his best night he could hang with any of them and on his many lesser nights he could lose to near any of them. Much was about who was on their game.

    Larry Holmes despite the bad blood between him and Berbick later
    credited Berbick as the strongest fighter he ever faced.

    I think ultimately Page was disappointing. Up to The Berbick fight the jury was out on him. After that he was hot and cold. Mostly cold. And for the rest of his career.

    All those guys under Larry were just contenders with belts that didn’t mean anything. That’s all they were. Witherspoon, Weaver, Coetzee, Dokes, Tubbs And Thomas. The whole lot of them.
