The best version of Berbick fights the Dempsey of Toledo. I actually work close to Toledo which made me think about this fight.

I feel like you just think about a random fantasy fight and say ''Yeah this will be a good post'' :chatter:

It’s actually an interesting style matchup, yes Dempsey is far more accomplished, but Berbick is a lot bigger and uses his size and Dempsey only really comes forward himself and does work from the clinch as a big part of his game, something I don’t know would work here, Berbick also has better technique, but Dempsey has a better defence and is faster, but I don’t know how him coming forward would work against a much bigger man who uses his size effectively.

the guys of Dempsey’s day were his size for the most part where he could get on their chest, or, like Jess Willard, had no clue of what to do or how to defend in mid range or up close and just absolutely froze up.

It’s really hard to say when Dempsey never had to deal with a guy much bigger who knew how to use his size effectively and he never had to adapt his style or work on how to defeat guys like that, which I’m not knocking him for, people just weren’t as big on average back then.

Same result as Tyson vs Berbick either KO 1 or round 2, Berbick gets crushed.

Dempsey was not quite as powerful as Tyson, and he was 30 pounds smaller. Dempsey’s gonna have to break him down imo.

I like Dempsey here … Berbick not a big hitter for his size.

    I think so too.
I see Dempsey in a Tyson v Ruddock type fight, beating the heck out of Berbick but Trev not getting stopped till later rounds

Berbick can't punch with Dempsey, and he lacked the skills to keep him off.

Dempsey had even more killer instinct than Tyson, this doesn't last long.

Berbick. Too much modern. Too much nutrition.

Berbick could be vulnerable early he was stopped early by Mercado aswell not just Tyson.

It appears to me if Berbick was allowed to get into a fight then he'd a handful but if you jumped on him early you could get him out of there.

Dempsey is one of the most ferocious fastest starting Heavyweights of all time and I think Berbick wouldn't be allowed to get into the fight and gets stopped early.
