And not surprisingly both fighters tried to make a name for themselves by shooting on the boxers. Inoki's collection of kicks to Ali messed up Ali's leg and it became infected supposedly. It almost became life threatening at one point according to one Ali documentary.
I'm surprised he didn't go ****ing nuts and attack the guy considering some of the things I've heard and seen Berbick do.
Berbick was definately ill. In order to comment on this thread, I had to resort to the petty searches of wikapedia and other places, but to my surprise, they were all in congruency to the sources that I read about this villain years ago..... Trevor Berbick had a long history of domestic abuse, public outbreaks, and drug use. He was an incredibly big asswipe to say the least. Apparently, he was even banned from the US and deported during the early 90's from what I have been told. In his final days, Berbick was brutaly beaten to death by one of his own relatives over a land despute in Jamaica. I don't know the details, but it coincides perfectely with all the bad news clips that he had over the years.............
Briggs didn't suck at MMA at all. He had a few matches over there and won all of them as far as I know. Ali didn't know the "rules" against Inoki either, because they changed them. Ali and Berbick were both under the impression that the fights were along the lines of professional wrestling, not legitimate shoot fighting,
Looks like a ****ing ***** in this footage. No attempt at all to fight back and potentially go out on his shield. That's a what a ****** gets I imagine.
Briggs had ONE MMA(actually was K-1) match. He was getting the crap getting kicked out of his leg(NOT doing well) until he launched forward landed two solid shots and dropped the dude.....thats his MMA/K-1 career.
Briggs easily ko'ed Tom Erikson (a great wrestler) under K-1 rules. Odd, pointless match. Takada vs Berbick was hilarious. Looked like Berbick wanted to hide behind the ref at one point.
Trevor was just too complex.............. I liked the guy , but he did a lot of hurtful things to a lot of folks........ was a shame how he ended up dead at the hands of a family member..
