[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ieL46Oreos[/ame] It's ok T-Prang! There is nothing to be embarrassed about losing to the best ground game in mma right now. If anything I would take it as a honor in a weird way to be choked out by him.
Best? Maybe. One of the best? Without question. How Roger was able to maintain control over Prangley when he attempted the hip-out wall walk was simply amazing. That was some ridiculous jits.
I understand why. He had made a point beforehand of saying that he knew he was vulnerable to the choke and that he really need to be mindful of avoiding it.
What I found amusing was Pat saying that Trevor was fine as long as he kept his chin down while the whole time he's saying that and just prior Roger already had his arm under his chin. Right up there with that other idiot calling an arm bar a kimura. (I can't recall it anymore, but he got some kind of basic submission confused with another basic submission...it was good for the laughs for some time afterward, particularly because he was adamant that he knew what he was talking about and was challenging people to come roll with him.)
Yeah, it isn't like anyone gave him much of a shot at winning and his effort in the first two rounds was nothing to be disappointed with. I really think it's just the fact that he went on the record noting the danger of the choke and then succumbed to it anyway.
In MMA, a master of one trade can beat a jack of all trades if he takes the fight into his area and executes. Gracie will not beat Rua standing but if it becomes jits you are ****ed.
prangley should be embarassed by his stand up and tdd but in terms of what happened on the ground then he must accept he is a mere mortal and roger, well, just isn't!
Its not as if he intensionally gave up his back to Roger is it though? he was trying to escape the ground altogether but an amazing bit of control by Roger allowed him to take prangleys back.
Oh, I'm not knocking him for losing...just empathizing that he probably feels shitty about seeing it coming and not being able to do anything about it in spite of trying.
