I don't think he'll go far to be realistic. Unless maybe he gets one of the better trainers, buckles down, works hard, and starts fighting every 8-10 weeks. His action on film doesn't reflect any significant talent and he hasn't kept that busy for a prospect. That and his comp has been pretty abysmal thus far.. I can see him accumulating maybe 17 or 18 fights, and maybe acquiring some small time local regional belt and calling it quits just for the novelty of having followed in his father's foot steps.. But I hope he finds something better to do with his life than getting his head beat in.
Then maybe there's hope. But he also hasn't had an appearance since January with nothing immediate scheduled on the horizon, and that's not good for a late starter with only 11 pro fights.
I guess I should rephrase what I said about HW's having late starts, it all stems from boxers not fighting 3-4 times a year. What do they need to do for guys to fight more? Make it 6 round fights??
Not sure what the reason for it is. Maybe there aren't as many active heavyweights around to fight. Or maybe business deals are more difficult to make or maybe some of these guys view this as more of a hobby than a career. But to give you an idea, Ray Mercer turned pro around 27 or 28 years of age and made up for lost time by accumulating the same number of fights as Trey Morrison within just a year of turning pro..
if he dropped Morrison, he could be called Trey "Fat" Lippe. Or Trey "Bloody" Lippe. Or Trey "Don't Give me no" Lippe. Etc.
What do you expect of someone with TWO years of Pro experience and no amateur background? He had an epiphany after his old man died and wanted to follow in his footsteps. For someone who walked into a gym 3 or so years ago he doesn't look terrible. Doubt he'll make it... But we can't count him out 100% yet.
yeah, Tommy went all out, even did a movie, they were pushing him hard and hyping him even harder right into the loving fists of Ray Mercer!!! receiving the KTFO of the Century!!! :dead if they'd babies him like they baby Wilder then Tommy May have broken Marciano's record and avoided all the guys who refuse to get KO'd!!
