Don't be fooled by the silly nickname, he's a stone-cold murderer in the ring. 5-0 (5) so far in the pros, nobody is yet to last more than 5 minutes with him. In his next assignment, on Thursday, he's scheduled to go eight with Derrick "Superman" Findley - and in all likelihood will do so, as teak-tough Findley has only been stopped 5x in 59 bouts over fourteen years. So either we get to gauge how Mavidis looks in deeper waters - or he makes a huge statement by taking out Superman early (or, I suppose, gets exposed). I'm not 100% certain he's any relation to Stelios "The Chainsaw" Mavidis (a pure badass in pro kickboxing). There is a strong facial resemblance, however. Daffy is also himself a crossover from kickboxing, so...fair assumption to make. pro debut: This content is protected versus Roberto Yong in February: This content is protected kickboxing match from 2015: This content is protected He might be a little small to contend at super middle, as most of the upper echelon guys will tower over him at just 6' level (although his upcoming opponent is anomalous, Findley having somehow remained a viable respected truth-serum journeyman despite standing half a foot shorter than even Mavidis at 5'6") and I have no idea whether he can make 160lbs. He does seem to be actively evolving the right kind of style for his build, however, lots of dynamic upper body movement, alternating powerful hooks with twisting feints. I'm hoping there's a stream on Thursday so we can grade his performance in this step up against Findley.
