"Hitman" McKenna is an Irishman now based in Woodland Hills, CA. Was he a strong amateur? @lencoreastside @marty @moorser @puca @juppity @lukekiko
Freemen down twice in the first minute off crisp right hands...make it thrice, in under two, final one from a wide-arcing long range left hook on the button. Goodnight Irene. Ref waves it off as Freemen makes a wobbly attempt to rise. TKO1!!
I guess McKenna is supposed to be a 140lb prospect. I guess both parties just said "**** it", with this being at MW...that means one guy (or both) missed weight by over 14lbs! A tenth of the limit!
Here's my thread on Mavidis: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/triantafyllos-daffy-mavidis.631185/ I personally consider this one to be the main event of this card, although it technically (if absurdly) isn't. They have two women making their pro debuts headlining.
"Superman" Findley's last important victory was a knockout against Donovan George, two years ago. Since then he is 5-4.
Round 1 Mavidis is catching Findley with jabs on the brow coming in, and flipping up some pinball launcher body shots into his sides. Findley keeps shuffling in a few steps and then cutting to his right. They swap hooks and both land with a loud clap, although neither man seems badly phased. Mavidis swarms Findley into the ropes with an overhand right between his eyes and follows up with some left hooks and more short chopping rights. Findley is able to escape with a high-hooking flurry and seesaws his way clockwise around Mavidis, pushing out a jab to negate the Greek's longer and stiffer one, targeting his arm rather than his face. 10-9 Mavidis
