    Round 8

Mavidis is catching Findley's double-fisted hatchet attack on the knife-edge of either outer arm, then feeding him jabs & straight rights on the backfoot. Mavidis is withstanding some heavy desperate pressure as Findley winds up huge body shots, many of them straying low. Mavidis warily gives him more respectful distance, lest a low blow unseen by the ref do a number on him. Mavidis is starting to cement himself in place and drill down on Findley's face with counter rights. Findley is hurt by the ropes with a minute left. Findley rolls with some shots and keeps slamming his overhand right up top, hoping to catch Mavidis with something big as they trade bombs. Findley selling out, but landing nothing. Mavidis puts up the goalposts, sending Findley's overhands caroming off, then pumps the 1-2 into his face.

    10-9 Mavidis

    79-73 Mavidis

First time Daffy has gone the distance. Really not that surprising, Findley is a hardheaded dude.

Props to Superman gutting it out and fighting so hard in a clearly losing battle, never giving up hope.

Findley actually has a fight lined up for next month at home in Gary, Indiana (11mi from the city he grew up in, Merrillville).

Opponent TBA. Possibly a soft touch for a guaranteed win before riding off into the sunset for a well-earned retirement?

I'd be like "thanks, but you all keep the ribs, I'll just take both of the blondes holding the bag... actually, one blonde and half the bag. :D Those ribs smell good.."

Next match (and last before they switch to MMA for a bit) is:

Kenneth Quach vs. Francisco Alfaro, 4 rounds @ super middleweight

Quach is 0-1-1. Alfaro is 0-1. Three fights between them, not a single win. Yet this gets higher billing than Mavidis vs. Findley, somehow...as do some random MMA bouts, and two women making their pro debuts against each other. o_O

Cheers ib, enjoyed that, he needed that test, Finley tough sob, good head movement also, daffy still got those kickboxing feet he Gota slowly get rid of, will take some time. Needs to work on conditioning also, looks like he faded a little there. All in all looks like a good prospect, nice snappy jab, good power, tough, some good skills also, On to the next.

Yeah taking a comfortable wide UD over Findley is by no means a bad result, even if a few rounds in the second half were close. That could have gone much worse (just ask Mike Jiménez, whom Findley exposed although it was changed to a NC..)

Decent amateur won an Irish title as a Senior which isnt easy. His brother Aaron is the blue chip prospect though.
