Was it 40years of him going on TV shows telling his story about the knock down and ripped glove?

If anyone who missed this (like myself) doesn't want to watch it on iPlayer, it's repeated at 11:20pm on Tuesday, BBC2. :thumbsup

No it wasn't. It was a pretty unbiased view of him as a boxer, a man and a national icon. It even showed him being kayoed by Patterson, so it gave the case for and against him as a fighter.

Most of all it showed that a good number of people thought of him as a fundamentally humble and decent bloke, which is what us Brits generally like in our sporting heroes - DeGale & Haye take note.

That patterson KO looked nasty, never seen it before. I liked henry real nice guy and good boxer, seems he died of a broken heart, after the fairly quick deaths in two years of his twin brother and beloved wife, very sad for the family.
