I've always said that Jimmy, in that short wheel-house of prime, could have given ANY HW champ MAJOR problems... In his BIG fights, didn't he just drive judges nuts with his style? R.I.P great warrior....
Thank you for posting this Red Cobra. Yeah, RC posting a tribute video is no cult meeting, ****o. Leon Spinks wouldn't beat ****. Who was the best opponent Leon beat besides a worse version of Ali that Young beat? And why do you feel the need to post this in a jimmy young thread, other then to just wind up ****? You're just trolling here
Bringing Leon into this thread? No...I may well be wrong but, IMO, Ali handed the title to Spinks knowing he could make history by regaining it scant months later. Prime Jimmy has no trouble with Spinks...
definitely agree with this, i mean Young was just on a higher caliber then Spinks despite never winning the championship, Spinks beat a worse Ali then Young did. And that's really all there is to Spinks's legacy, the win against Ali.
Ali lost to Spinks because of severe miscalculation. he did n't hand anything to him. Look at the last round in the first fight. Ali was going all out for a knockout. He was simply too exhausted to produce one.
Jimmy Young. At his best he was a slower man's worst nightmare. Perhaps the hardest heavyweight to tag to the head.
And that, in a nutshell, is the greatest tribute to a defensive master..which Jimmy Young was.:thumbsup
Yeah Spider,..I was just in tthe mood for another Jimmy Young tribute thread, and that sure dosen't hurt every now and then :good
