This thread is a celebration of the great Roy Jones Jr., finest boxer of our time. One of the guys who really got me into boxing, and the favorite boxer of general forum poster kg0208.

I think that some of you know that kg´s last day on the forum is coming up, so a few words... before I posted on ESB I had a read only account for almost a year and one poster I always looked to read during that time was kg... upmost in objectivity and long time boxing knowledge. Its been a pleasure posting with you and reading your stuff. All the best in the future. Take it easy!

In his prime - Roy was just too far ahead of everyone else in the game.

I have seen him since he joined the forum, and he is one of the few solid and well-rounded, unbiased posters here.

Goes to show you the main difference between old Roy in his prime and now is his legs. Roy was certainly exciting and had some of the most devastating and impressive looking ko's.

Yeah Roy was quicker than most humans on earth thats for sure. And speed kills. The steroids take some of the luster off his legacy, as well as fighting all the schmoes.

    Why is KG leaving?

Roy was more talented than any other man to step in the ring, in my opinion.

What a great accomplishment of RJJ as a boxer. He once reign with terror from his low of 154 lbs. to a high of 193 lbs., from jr. middleweight to heavyweight. That's around 40 lbs. range. I'm not even sure if PAC can duplicate that achievement (starting at 106 lbs. and aiming to go as high as 140 lbs.) for an equally impressive 34 lbs. weight range.

To KG, good luck man and thanks for the sensual pics of Mrs. KG...

I dunno KG, I've not been around long enough, but its cool to have a send-off for a respected poster, well done esb.

I do know RJJ though, and he has been the greatest fighter since the decline of Pernell Whitaker in the early 1990s. And my personal favourite fighter ever. In terms of ability, top 10 p4p of all-time for me. I salute you RJJ.
