It seems like they have tried to do the same thing Jay-Z said he was going to do, which is create these multi-platform entertainment events. The problem is that there isn't that much overlap between fans of has been music acts and B grade boxing. So you don't get much support from either and spend a **** ton of money in the attempt.

They tried it with KO Nation on HBO in the early 2000s, too, with bigger names.

Rap and Boxing. Should work. Doesn't work as a combined live show.

And compared to Triller, KO Nation looks stellar. Boxing has too much history and is too global. The Triller boxing shows were WAY too niche and ghetto. People around the globe don't want to sit around and listen to rap battles and then hear announcers call everyone a muther****er for two hours while getting stoned. Most of Triller's shows, from a broadcasting standpoint, were cringeworthy.

At one point, they hired Al Bernstein to call a card and between his FELLOW ANNOUNCERS cursing and trying to get him to smoke weed, he stayed until the end of the show (because he's a pro) and ran for the doors. It was like oil and water. Didn't mix.

They hired Jim Lampley, and I don't think he even did one show after Al spoke to him.

There's too much work going on behind the scenes to air a live boxing show. Between the director, and the floor directors, and the camera operators, the technicians, giving direction to the announcers, cutting to different cameras, trying to keep everyone sharp and on their toes.

On the Triller shows, there were too many people directly involved in the broadcast trying to party, while others are trying to put on a show, while others are trying to fight. Now, if people aren't even getting paid, it's over.

When you're spending millions, you don't want shows to come off looking like everyone's a **** up. And that's what they did.

    It needs a complete overhaul.

Triller folks don't even seem to know what to do when they're putting on Rap Battles on the same show they are holding a card headlining nearly all Eastern Europeans - the Pulev brothers and Kovalev?

Ever been to a typical boxing card featuring primarily Eastern Europeans? I have. Nobody is cranking a lot of rap from the speakers in the arena. Wrong crowd.

First word of advice -- read the room.

Nobody knows what they're doing over there at this point.

She was kinda flirting with him with the body shots. She didn't seem to mind by her body language.

    Beautiful girl though.

Those are some great points. But I'll tell you what, till this day that Tyson vs Jones Jr broadcast was probably the most entertaining event that I've saw and was money well spent in my book. I was really looking forward to more ppv events like that one but they never came.

When a woman flirts with a man on purpose like that, she probably likes him a lot. How often do you see women flirt with men?

Pulev seems to have an effect on women, probably because of his overall rugged looks and charisma. The woman was having fun and laughing, so let them have their fun. If she did that on a private setting, it means she wants it.

I would agree. The fact that Mike Tyson and Roy Jones agreed contractually not to knock each other out, basically fought a 10-round no-decision bout, got in shape, performed well and were two historical figures in the sport ... everyone was happy they looked good in there ... and the show looked great ... the set was great ... big KOs on the undercard ... there wasn't an audience for the most part ... it looked slick. The announcing came off as funny because one guy (Snoop) was just being himself. Everyone else on the announcing team acted professionally.

It was like lightning in a bottle.

Nothing Triller did after that compared. It's like everyone watching that night thought they could do the same thing, and it all fell apart.

Sloppy fights. Announcers nobody heard of cussing their heads off and talking over each other. Announcers you have heard of trying to act like they were pot heads and cussing because it was allowed. Sloppy camerawork. Bad sets. Guys like Bernstein trying to add some credibility and basically getting run off the set. And, in terms of draws, you can't go from all-time greats like Mike Tyson and Roy Jones looking sharp ... to Mike Hunter and Tommy Morrison's son being your headliner.

I always thought the movie Napolean Dynamite was funny in its own way. Weird but funny. So I watched the next movie the same team made, and it was called Gentleman Broncos. It was completely unwatchable.

Sometimes you can take some weird pieces, throw them together, and it's surprisingly good. Other times, you take MOST of the same pieces, throw them together, and it's complete garbage.

Triller went from suprisingly good with Tyson and Jones ... to complete garbage ... to whatever is lower than that ... and seems to get worse nearly every time out.
