MW is not Trindads prime weight - and his style somewhat suits Toney. Even if Tito would chose to box the whole evening, Toney was aggressive enough at MW to get to him. B-Hop outhustled and countered Trinidad all night at MW, I'd see a similar outcome if Trinidad faced Toney.
With all the momentum Tito had going when fighting Hopkins, I don't think this fight would be so easy to choose a winner as it is now. Although I think Tito might have a slightly better chance than he did against Hopkins, I think he still gets knocked out.
James Toney would ko Tito at MW. Toney's counter rights would hurt him bad. Tito never had the best beard to begin with. I would not be surprised to see him stopped in this one as well.
If Toney had to make middleweight, he would be way too weak from shedding the 200 lbs. ...Oh you mean back in the day? Toney wins. Solid chin, good defense and Trinidad is not hard to figure out for Toney.
Toney by stoppage, quicker than B-Hop, but not because he's a better MW....just see his combos doing Tito in faster. Hop worked at a steady rate, breaking Tito down. I think Toney, against an aggressor like Tito, would have a field day and a lot of opportunities to unload.
