Are we talking about the guy who was walking in front of Trinidad with his hands down and no defense or head movement??? Of course it was a knock out waiting to happen....
Quartey at his best was at 147 not 154, Many believe Wright beat Vargas, Trinidad was not undefeated at 147, DLH school him, Canelo is not the same fighter he was at 154, his at his best at 160.
Yeah, at that time MW was weak, that joppy would've been lucky to be a top 5 or higher in the middle weight division right now.
Oscar boxed his ears off till his legs gave out, like they always did the last part of his career. I think that was the last time I saw Oscar on his toes for more than a few rounds, like the golden boy used to box. Tito was a robot who was more skilled at landing his left hook, than most of his opponents realized, till they ate one. I think canelo finishes Tito at160, the Campas from back then wouldn't even provide adequate sparring for today's Canelo.
Hopkins did what he was supposed to do, stop the smaller guy, just like he did with Oscar. Just like Canelo would today. Golovkin would stop Tito too... stop Oscar too. When Oscar lost his mobility he lost a lot, he was just a great boxer and made adjustments that mitigated the damage.
I pick Canelo by decision at this point. Canelo has shown ability to avoid big punches and control the fight with speed and counterpunching, and that would beat Trinidad by decision. Ironically the higher in weight it goes the better for Canelo.
I wouldn't put it past Oscar and the Grotesque Ginger Clebuterol Toad to head down to the geriatric ward and drag Tito's decrepit bag of old bones from it.
