Hearns was a fast starter over the first 2-3 rounds.

Trinidad was a slow starter who was prone to being dropped in the early rounds at welterweight.

Hearns had a very fast and busy jab to set up his power punches.

Trinidad was vulnerable and open to being hit with the jab.

Hearns' handspeed was quicker than Trinidad's.

Hearns KO within 4 rounds. :good

More likely that Trinidad wins a decision than Hearns? Really?

Nah man, Hopkins is a 35yo past prime alphabet bum who hasn't fought anyone except for Jones who dominated him and we all know Jones only faces bums and the ghost of Toney. He has no chance against the New Sugar Ray Trinidad

    Anyway 3:45 onwards, Hopkins headbutts:

Tito has a punchers chance but that's about it. If he can somehow not get KO'ed and make it to the later rounds he might get to a tiring Hearns, but that's a big, big if.

At welter Tito started slowly and Hearns has the kind of power and speed he has never faced before. Even if he somehow survives, Hearns is much more versatile than Tito and would easily out box him. If Trinidad couldn't deal with Wright's jab, he has no chance with Hearns' jab.

I'd be surprised to see Tito survive beyond the 3rd round.

Tito wasn't being compared to Robinson overall, Merchants quote, paraphrased, went something like "He may be the best finisher in these divisions since Ray Robinson".

The comment was regarding his finishing.ability, which was indeed something to behold.

Tito was a good fighter, but not in Hearns class really. He overwhelmed everyone he was matched with normally, but the top guys did give him tough fights. The Delahoya fight is not really a win the way it went. Stylewise it is not a good matchup for Tito. Roldan, who was not near the fighter Tito was, had a better style against Hearns than Tito does.

Well, I didn't want to go there, but if we are talking about Tito (pre hand wrapping issue) I'd give him a better chance against Hearns to win by KO. Tito always goes down early and Hearns isn't the man you want to go down early to.

Hearns jab would probably be enough to keep Tito at bay and then stop him with some over hand straight right somewhere in the first half.
Fight wouldn't last long that's for sure.

Hearns would knock him out in the mid rounds if not earlier, he hits harder, is faster & is a better boxer, I think he can take Trinidad`s power but I don`t think Tito can take Tommy`s power... he was famous for getting up & coming on himself but against Hearns he would be coming onto nothing but crisp, fast, power shots, Hearns was a brilliant finisher & Tito`s chin was not hard to find.

    Hearns KO7 Trinidad

Tommy's chin was never atrocious! Outside of Leonard, he pretty much handled everyone at 147.

There isn't a welterweight in Hisotry that outboxes Hearns, Tito included. at 147, Tommy was the better boxer, with better power, and a better chin. Tito, on the other hand, can be hurt early. Tommy knocks him out in 3
