I have only seen snippets of the fight, but a lot of people say how good the fight was. From what I've seen and heard, it was super one sided, and I just want opinions. Was this a truely great fight, or was it prevented from being so because of how one sided it was?

    Opinions?

It was pretty one sided, but very very entertaining, one of the most dramatic fights i have ever seen really. soooo much energy from the crowd, and tito look like God

It was a good fight and very entertaining, but Tito did most of the ass kicking that night. Mayorga fought valiantly and refused to go down, a body shot finally did it.

isnt an ass beating always a great fight?!

it was dramatic too...i mean Mayorga pulling his famous "gimme your best shot" move and continuing to fight bravely as well as talk a whole gang of **** prior to the fight...

Your thread made me think of a Trinidad-Mayorga II. WHat do you guys think would happen? I think it would be much closer this time.

both fighters are INCREDIBLY faded and itll probably be a lot closer considering EVERYONE post-Hopkins makes sure he doesn't wrap his hands REALLY tight like he used to...

    but yea...Tito still wins

it was a hugely entertaining fight

there are some fighters that are in very few bad fights whether they win or lose and mayorga is one of those guys

ray leonard was another 1, he was always in good fights with maybe only the 3rd duran fight as an exception

Absolutely, he looked like the old Tito that night. And it was remarkable how much punishment Mayorga was able to take. Excellent fight :good

I think so too. Mayorga blocks punches with his face and trinidad will just tee off on him all night. Mayorga has a solid chin but after some point he will cave in.

    he had a knockdown?

I dont remember that. Was it a legit knockdown that was ruled as a slip, because i dont recall any knockdowns?

It was a punch behind Tito's ear. It knocked him off balance and his glove touched the canvas. He wasn't hurt at all

One of the best moments in boxing for me, if not the best. (Not because the fight was anywere near the best fights ive seen of course not) But because I was at a party with over 60 people, and there was only 1 Trinidad fan... ME, and everybody was braggin about how my boy Tito was going to get knock'out and then what happened at the end, and they look in their faces was incredible.

I was there -- atmosphere was crazy - almost 18,000 fans at the Garden, and it was Trinidad's first fight in like 2-plus years. Definitely must see fight, it was kind of one-sided, but competitive.
