Love Tito and I think he’s more competitive than most would think here but got to go with McCallum. Close but clear enough.
It would be a repeat of the Jackson fight except McCallum drops Trinidad at least once in the early rounds and then picks him apart to a late stoppage. Just too skilled and tough for Trinidad.
I love Tito. But, McCallum has this. Probably looks more like Hopkins-Trinidad than McCallum Jackson. (That was a firefight with an unsatisfacory and somewhat questionable early stoppage)
The body snatcher eats him up stopping him about the 8th round ...i could see trinidad catching him in the 2nd or 3rd but he cant take advantage and mccallum just goes back to work
I hate to say it because I'm a huge Trinidad fan and he looked tremendous at 154 but I think McCallum would beat him. I think McCallum would be wary of Tito's power but he was slick enough to box Tito in and out of the pocket, like Hopkins. Tito might have some success early but I think Mike pulls away for either a unanimous decision or gets the late stoppage.
I think Tito for all his power might be a bit straight forward here. Over 12 i'd take McCallum on points and i reckon Tito might shake him a bit once or twice tho it's not carved in stone.
I sure do not see Trinidad absorbing the 2 fisted body attack from this guy. The attrition factor would have him lose those legs by about the 7th round. I also think Trinidad is the guy being backed up from the opening bell and that is a means to an end against a guy like McCallum.
Yeah, pretty much in line with the guys above on this - McCallum runs out the winner here. His win over Jackson (and to a lesser extent Milton McCrory) and Trinidad's humbling at the hands of Hopkins are quite instructional for this one, I think. McCallum had the technical skills and was rugged and tough to go with it. Trinidad was a great puncher, brave as they come and picked his shots well...But he fought straight up, was very hittable with jabs and wasn't the best adapter. I can see Trinidad's power and range keeping things interesting for a while before McCallum starts timing him, weaving his way in close, mastering Trinidad on the inside and gradually breaking him down. I think he stops Trinidad late in a very entertaining fight.
