Trinidad vs these fighters

That was two shot fighters fighting WAY above Tito's weight class.

 

Name me one fighter with great power that Clottey faced.

We can go in circles like this. Tito stopped many fighters with good chins, he never really fought anyone like Clottey, but the same can be said vice versa. Style-wise, aside from a tight guard, Clottey has nothing. He doesn't have the jab or workrate to keep Tito off like Winky did.

 

Ok, how many fighters with Tito's power did Reid face? How about Hoya? Winky? Are you telling me that because Clottey has never faced anyone with Tito's power that he gets stopped? How many times have you seen Clottey at all hurt(by an opponent's punch) in the ring?

 

Clottey is a huge and strong and fast welter. He will tag Tito's chin at will and make him look silly. Margarito will crack tito's chin too.

 

You may as well count the Reid fight man, homeboy got planted 5 times....

 

Margo set a record for punches thrown against a Clottey that had stopped punching and he still wasn't remotely close to being stopped. That's enough to let me know that the guy could go 12 with anyone around his size. Let's also not forget that he's pretty big for a Welter. History has shown that guys like Clottey don't easily get stopped. It's very rare that a guy with a great chin and a solid defense gets stopped.

 

Richard Guetierrez, by a body shots he was hurt a few times.

I think Trinidad-Clottey is much like Trinidad-Thiam.

Please note the Trinidad that fought Winky was shot as evident by his shakey legs in that fight. Legs are the first thing to go.

Margo vs Tito would be toe to toe, in which case I just don't fathom Tito losing. Everyone that ever traded with Tito paid the price for it, so would Margo. I don't care how strong his chin is, NO ONE takes flush bombs from Tito round after round and makes it through a full 12 on the winning side.

 

That only strenghtens my argument. Reid is not as good defensively as Clottey, his beard as not as strong, he was half blind, he was kd 5 times, yet he still went 12.

 

You can tell how great a fighter was by how much hate he gets on these forums.

I don't remember Clottey being hurt by Gutierrez. I'll watch the fight again though.

 

Tito made Thiam look like an Alien it was brutal man.

 

You are missing the point.....none of these welters have been in there with someone with Titos power.Im not saying that tito k.o's all of em but come on man besides Diego Corrales and Antonio Margo ,Clottey HAS NOT faced someone with Titos power.AMOF most of Clotteys opponents have less than 50% k.o ratio.now as far as REID? Dude ,you can do better than that .....Tito was 36-0 when he stepped up to light middle weight when he clearly outclassed Reid!
