Tito/Oscar would be interesting - tho possibly just as boring as the 1st fight - in the respect that Id like to see who is the better fighter at this stage, I like Oscar by UD 7-5. Tito will never be able to beat Hopkins IMO, a big guy, hard to hit clean, punishes every mistake & has a steel chin when/if you do land clean..... no, Hopkins all day long by UD 9-3 or 8-4 at worst.
I can tell your a `glass is half full` type of guy. I dont share your optimism on this fight, Hopkins workrate wasnt at its highest in their 1st fight either, it was just plain basic fundamental boxing skills that were the difference & before you say `fair enough but the hopkins of now could still never be as active as he was then` I will say but neither will Trinidad be. Hopkins by UD for me. Ps. The Brazilian Ronaldo was special but Van Basten was his daddy. :thumbsup
Ive recently thought Pavlik/Kessler would be 1 of the best action fights that can be made possible, might do a thread on it actually, that would be very interesting stylewise....mmmmm.
ok man, I agree with the first part of your post but the second part you must be crazy. Tito got schooled by WR but against RJJ he was ahead of the cards in the first 5 rounds. After that he got schooled. Tito shouldn't come back unless he can drop to 154 or 160. Actually I am not to crazy about 160. At this point Tito is not in shape whatsoever, he can't barely make 170 which is stupid. He needs to take the mofongo off his mouth and train hard for 3 months to then sign a real fight against someone he can beat... If I was in their team I will try for him to get down to 154 and get a fight with Margo or Forrest. I think that he can be competitive right now against those 2 guys.
I'd like to see him fight at 154 in June, against a BIG NAME opponent. He needs a nutritionist, and to start doing the Marathons again.
I'd be really surprised if we see Trinidad ever fight again and if he does he needs to get down to 160 instead of 170. I' really like to see him at 154 anad fight Mosley, DLH, Mayweather,Margorito or someone similar but I think we'd be lucky to see him just make 160. Two fights or even one would be good for boxing but I'll believe it when I see it.
...he's served his time well in boxing, fair enough he has lost his last two and i more than anyone would like him to retire with a victory but i'm just happy with his legacy so far... can u imagine a slugfest between him an Miranda at Super-middle??
Tito is done. He's like a bouncing ball - each time he 'comes out of retirement' he's reaching lower and lower heights. He will never get back to anywhere near the heights of his previous incarnations.
