If my aunt had *****, she'd be my uncle.

I wasn't all over Canelo for the Khan fight because I figured it was still building towards a GGG showdown. I feared for Khan's life, but that's about it.

Who else was available to GG on HBO's date?

He wanted Eubank, but circumstances led to Brook.

You said he had better options.

    What were they?

Doesn't Lara want like 5m for a fight? Maybe one day he'll send a contract to k2 for a fight. Until then he can continue going life or death against the likes of Vanes

This month Lara and Jacobs had called him out. Both are better options than Brook.

Look, it's fine. You are a fan of hi bank balance, I am a fan of competitive fights.

I see a sport, you see a business.

    Tomato, tomato.

I read your posts on this thread and am a little bit confused as to what point you're trying to make?

You make it seem like there was a do or die cutoff point for GGG to fight, and he HAD to sign a deal with Brook after the Eubank Jr fight fell through.

I don't understand the logic behind your posts. Was HBO forcing him to fight on that same expected date that was proposed between him and Eubank Jr?

Or was this a contract that was made based solely of CONVENIENCE because Eubank's promoter just so happens to promote another guy that was interested in GGG and was able to get the same terms agreed upon quickly.

I'm a fan of Golovkin's, heck I'm even a fan of Brook's to a certain degree. But there's absolutely no way anyone can spin this fight as being a good/legitimate matchup whatsoever. Brook has only beaten one good WW of note in his entire career, now all of a sudden people are going to believe he can move to the full 160 and compete with the best MW in the world?

Shame on Gennady's team, they should've withdrawn altogether from the event in the UK and try to schedule a fight with either one of the top JMW's in the world or he should've attempted to dip his feet in the SMW division and maybe take on a top 10 guy at the weight until he was able to get Jacobs or Saunders in the ring.

I get he wants to unify the division, and its an admirable quality, but these tune up fights really need to stop. They do absolutely nothing for the guy's career and overall legacy. At least his previous tune up fights were against guy that campaigned in and around his division. It really is just a waste of the guy's time while he's still able to dominate.

Lara might be willing to fight GGG, but I don't think Jacobs actually would take the fight ... he's said before he wants big money to fight GGG, and only in 18 months' time. Calling out GGG = good publicity.

Is Brook going to get brutally KO'd any more or less violently than Lara would? Sure, maybe Lara would last a few more rounds but overall, what's the difference? Besides a boatload more money for the Brook fight, of course.

I can't believed some idiots are still getting fooled by the Twitter warrior that is Lara.

It's been shown before that if you really want to fight Golovkin it's not difficult. Curtis Stevens promoter gave K2 a call and got a contract back double quick. Hearn has negotiated deals for not one but two of his fighters. All it needs is basic ability to use a telephone. Why would you not do that if you genuinely wanted the fight? If, on the other hand, you have no genuine desire to make that fight and are simply looking for a bit of free publicity then keep banging those tweets out and the muppet show will lap them up!!!

Incidentally, this thread states that Lara is the "best at 154" like that's some kind of proven fact. There are three other unbeaten champs at the weight, plus Canelo who has already beaten him and Andrade who never lost his WBO belt in the ring. Plenty of good fights for him to be getting on with at his own weight class.

Golovkin is a coward and a hypocrite, it's pretty simple.

I don't think some people understand what the term "calling someone out" actually means. A lot of supposed fans are under the impression that answering a direct question about your willingness to fight a particular opponent constitutes "calling them out".

You can see here an example of exactly how Jacobs "called out Golovkin". http://ringtv.craveonline.com/news/426871-danny-jacobs-wants-to-face-gennady-golovkin-for-my-legacy . Basically, he was asked about the possibility of a fight with Golovkinn during the course of an interview where he also answered questions on Quillin, Saunders and Mora amongst others . Ring have cleverly manipulated the material to make the comments on Golovkin the headline. But if you actually read the material, Jacobs makes it clear that the Mora rematch is in negotiation, that he won't fight Golovkin for the same money he got against Quillin and that he wants to face Saunders first because of he took Saunders' title he could command more money for putting it on the line against Golovkin. In other words, he would consider a Golovkin fight but has no intention of doing it immediately or without significantly more money on offer.

Of course, some look for ammunition to suit their prejudices, whilst others simply lack the intelligence to understand journalistic license.

Do People really want to see LARA die? His style is ALL wrong for GGG.

It's not like he's really a name, no ones checking for LARA. A win over Lara does nothing for GGG's pockets.

So your FANAGER skills suck for both fighters

    keep it moving.

This is an excellent post, fully agreed.
