Ward was seen by most of the #1 p4p boxer in the world. GGG was holding the #2 spot by the majority so the retirement logically moved GGG to the #1 spot. Golovkin didn't earn a draw, he earned the win over Alvarez...it was Canelo who was gifted a draw in a fight he lost. If Vegas is refunding money to those who placed bets on GGG you know the decision was bogus. Vegas rarely ever gives back money they have pocketed.
There's a good argument for Terry as well but his resume is about as strong as GGG's. Victor Postal, Diaz and Indongo are some good names. He's dominated just as well as GGG has. I do believe he's a more complete boxer overall but I think the #1 spot could go to either man. I'm not made the GGG is at number 1 and wouldn't be mad if TC got the acknowledgement
SOB was P4P the dirtiest boxer in history! I am glad Golovkin has this honor. Alvarez refused the rematch for Dec., wants to wait until May or even Sept. Fighters should be made to fight more often, at least 4 times per years unless they have a legit injury.
He didn't earn a win he earned a draw and the record book reflects it. I scored the fight a draw after viewing it 3 times. Either Loma or Crawford should be P4P #1 not GGG you don't move up when you have a draw.
After Ward made Kovalev his son in the rematch Ward was P4P #1. And he was P4P #1 by the ring before that. http://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/19705481/pound-pound-rankings-andre-ward-takes-top-spot
Ward will, forever own you and Kovalev. I loved the way he made Kovalev his ***** and made him quit and had Kovalev fans like you on suicide watch. Andre Ward 32-0-0 undefeated since he was 12 and headed to the HOF in 5 years let that sink in and deal with it.
Said the midwife after the main part of you ran down your mother's legs chasing the placenta into the toilet..
I think that's the problem with arguing about these lists; if you scored it a GGG win then I think having him at number 1 is fine. There is literally nothing more subjective than these lists so it's almost always an arbitrary debate. For me I think him or Crawford is fine, although I scored it a win against Canelo which trumps anything Crawford has done (yet!). I won't even really argue the case of having Loma as number 1 as the dude is ****ing unreal
I think Crawford is better P4P, talentwise. But, since the ranking seems more of a popularity contest, GGG is the logical choice. What matters most, anyway, is who is #1 on Jim Lampley's P4P list and irrefutable "Gatti List." Can't wait for the next episode of the Fight Game. Bang...BANG...BANG!
