Well, Triple G gonna be TRIPLE DEAD when he goes up against the REAL mother****ing undisputed middleweight champ MARAVILLA Martinez. Let Maravilla shake off some rust then its a wrap for TRIPLE DEAD. Let the Martinez from Chavez show up and we got a goddamn fight :deal

Martinez wil do well for a few rounds .If he can adopt a klitscho approach when ever Golovokin is close and keep boxing on the back foot dont be surprise if Martinez doesnt win it. but Thats a big if

    Maravillas defense was always overrated.

He's gonna get slaughtered at this point, by Gennadyi. Whereas before, he'd only get beaten soundly and get stopped late.

    Gennadyi KO within 6.

I think most GGG fans, in fact most boxing fans want to see this fight. It looks to me and most others however that Maravilla is fading. We'll have to see how he does on his return to the ring, but whilst a 2011-12 Maravilla might have had enough for GGG, you're certainly in the minority if you think 2014 Martinez beats Golovkin.

Maravilla's one of the most liked and respected fighters out there, and the chief concern I have is that he could be badly hurt in this fight, but on the other hand if he's not going to retire on the lineal title, there's no-one more deserving than GGG of getting the shot.

Martinez will take the Cotto fight,a much safer bet.GGG is another animal altogether and should that fight occur,it will be Sergio's retirement bout.

Lewcowicz is talking Cotto then GGG, but yeah, if Maravilla really does want the GGG fight (and I'm thinking HBO will pay good $s to get Golovkin the lineal shot) I'd expect it to be his last.

What'll be problematic is if Cotto is able to beat a faded Maravilla. I can see that Martinez wants to get the best possibly paydays for his last few fights (as will Cotto) but losing the lineal title would make him worth far less to HBO.

Possibly some kinda two or three fight deal involving Cotto vs Maravilla maybe with a rematch clause, and GGG to fight the winner.

The only issue here is that Schaeffer appears to be making some kinda play for Cotto - so we'd have to see how that works out, but it might just be a ploy to sabotage TR/HBO plans. Both Cotto and Martinez have stated that they're staying with TR and HBO (respectively), but those GBP $s can change peoples minds sometimes.

Even at his peak i would still pick Golovkin to beat him, at this point i think Golovkin runs over him and sends Martinez straight to retirement.

As much as I like Martinez, I don't see him surviving against Golovkin.

Martinez is one of the few fighters that I really appreciate and respect cuz he started from the bottom , took the hard way to earn what he has, but I think he'd be brutalise by 3G after the 4th round. I'm not so sure if a prime Martinez ( Pavlik, P.W II, S.D) would lost 12 rounds against this version of 3G.

The fight with Cotto should give us an exact answer if Martinez still got something in his tank. :good

Martinez is one of my favorite fighters.. Between his boxing style, his attitude in/ out of the ring, his warrior mentality, etc.... But I just can't see him winning this.
In his prime (prob around the time of fighting Williams and Pavlik) this would be a fight I would love to see. Now I think martinez is just getting to old to stand against a young strong guy like GGG.
I'd still pay for watch Martinez fight Mayweather even, I'd probably still pick Martinez to win a close decision against Quillen (he's got the skills to last I beleive), but GGG walks him down, GGG will take a few punches in doing so, but he breaks Martinez down within 6-8. Bad style for martinez to fight.

  14. Golovkin knocks Martinez out in round 2 or 3 ..
