Hopkins is 50 and would have to drain himself down to 160 for this fight. GGG would be the favorite and rightfully so. I have only limited interest in this fight.

 

Somebody needs to actually watch Golovkin fight :nut

 

I have no interest after seeing the way Hopkins ran from Kovalev it wouldn't be any different than that fight.

The GGG hate is unbelievable, just creating a world where no matter what he does, it isn't good enough. When he fought Murray, it was "first real test, former champ, he'll do well against GGG." And when GGG destroys him, it's "Murray was a bum"

Same with any opponent, it's obvious that neither Cotto or Canelo want to fight him, somehow still GGG gets the blame.

Then with Ward, it's somehow only a valid fight if GGG does it on Wards terms... Pure craziness and just not liking someone for the sake of not liking.

Those who don't like GGG will continue not to like him, regardless.

Golovkin looks to be a great fighter, seriously. He's not yet though because his resume isn't up to par. But a hype job? We all know Jacory isn't going to give someone credit unless they're black!

 

No shame in losing to Andre Ward, that's for sure. It would not make GGG a hype job, even if it were 12 rds to 0 even at 164 catch weight. Andre Ward is already a Hall of Famer. GGG has a long way to go.

If GGG were to fight Hopkins, the minimum weight would have to be 168, I'd guess. I just don't see Hopkins making that weight and if I am advising Golovkin, it's a lose/lose, especially after B-Hop lost to Kovalev.
