When you're a real puncher, the other guy can feel your knuckles because you hit that hard.

Yep, I've never seen the leather just give like that on a boxing glove.

Maybe Mayweather Jr. had a point when he examined Maidana's gloves and outright said the knuckle area in the gloves had little padding and were just to soft.

For anyone that does'nt know, the actual wrap on a finished hand feels hard. When you have little to no padding on the hitting area or a boxing glove, its almost near like getting hit with a cast.

 

While I don’t subscribe to his theory about GGG’s gloves, it is worth listening to and shouldn’t be met with such criticism. This is a sport where confidence is paramount and after being battered by an opponent (especially being known as a tough guy like geale or rosado) its probably pretty decimating to that confidence, especially when cut early in the fight. I tend to forgive boxers when they leave the ring and can’t come to terms with a defeat and have a deluded view of what happened. Not even they believe it entirely, they still make the adjustments, but i can definetly see why Rosado has to rationalize what happened that night before he goes toe to toe with another big puncher, it might really suck the wind out of him knowing that he really could be at the hands of another beating like that someday, so he chooses to make an excuse and count it to be something else. It would probably be tougher for him to enter the ring without the excuse and a lot of boxers seem to do this although not in this fashion so i tend to be a little bit more forgiving of boxers for this sort of behavior, however slanderous it is.

Are you really so stupid to believe that opponents' camps aren't inspecting the **** out of GGG's gloves and wraps at this point? Give me a break. His power comes from ridiculously good technique, combined with being gifted with the right ratio of muscle fiber types, not special gloves.
