Agreed that he’s got a chin problem. Wlad level chin problem.

Dubois needs to copy Wlad’s style at this point. In fact, if Wlad ever wanted to train a non-Ukrainian, Dubois is the perfect candidate.

 

Wlad kind of panicked in ring when hurt. He’s one of the greatest champs ever but he didn’t have that “don’t quit until I’m dead” mentality. The more hurt Wlad got, the lower his confidence was.

compare to Evander Holyfield. He’d keep trying until he was dead if the ref allowed it. Getting hurt just made him angry. Completely different.

no disrespect to Wlad. He was a far greater champ than Holyfield was. But when it came to that junkyard dog in them? Just not the same.

anyway my point was that Wlad had great athleticism, great strength, and big power. But a weak chin. He developed a style to protect the chin while maximizing what he had. That’s what Dubois needs to do at this point. They have the same basic set of attributes, even if yes, Wlad is taller.

Usyk countered Dubois' counter and Dubois didn't see that punch coming. I thought the KO was reminiscent of the Dave Allen Johnny Fisher KO where Dubois' head did a 360, his eyes spun, his mouthguard got knocked out, and he was definitely unconscious for part of the way down.
