Just thought I would make a wee thread about the BN editor, I think BN is much better with him in charge, he writes a good column IMO & after years of slating BN when Claude Abrams ran the show, its only fair to give out some credit where its due.

I particularly like the way Dixon doesnt shy away from talking honestly about brit officials, very refreshing:good & I like his fairness.

Hes got me buying BN again after losing faith in the magazine, so just thought I would mention it!

Yeah, he's pretty good. I went off him a bit in the aftermath of Theophane-Rodriguez but aside from that he's aight.

Its a good answer, but not the right one Slip. I just like the his columns, & the fact hes willing to post his true feelings on brit officials, amongst other things. hes refreshing to read, & BN has got better IMO since hes taken control, & Im buying the mag again!

As for the praising Jock thing, I was annoyed at the Burns poll, thought it should never have been included. However, Im talking about a general improvement here, its just an honest observation from an honest poster:deal

Agreed. Tris is doing a fine job and is a good man to have behind the tiller, in what are stormy conditions.

Claude is far better IMO, Not a fan of the new format nor some of the writers. Tris is decent as a writer but for me the BN was better with Claude in charge.

    people still buy magazines?

  11. I've never actually read a copy of BN, I've always been a Boxing Monthly man.

If he's prepared to discuss the problem of officiating then fair play, though I do hope that a mention is given to whoever the ref was on the Eurosport card last week - that's the time to stop a fight.

Maybe its just me, but I get more pleasure from reading a newspaper/magazine than reading an online article.

I cant put my finger on it, but if I am reading a magazine/newspaper, I tend to pay more attention & read the entire contents than if I were scouting an internet site., where I just read the article that interests me & then leave.

Same here Dunky, read the mags from cover to cover but barely look at some of the online content

Get most of my breaking news in the sport from you guys

Having a long commute means the mags are a godsend, got the BN Annual to read this morning

Are you on the 12-step programme, Dunky, atoning for previous wrongs you may have done?
