Trivia: He had my number!

    I'm a retired boxer, who once was a world title holder in one of boxing's 8 classic divisions.
    But even though I was a world champ, there was this non-champion I just couldn't beat.
    I tried several times, but to no avail - and at the end of the day, he was responsible for half of all my defeats.
    Except for the year of my pro debut, and the year of my last fight, this guy actually beat me in every calendar year in between!

    Who am I?

    one of boxings nearly men...georgie abrhams.....although he beat soose a few times, he couldnt win the title himself....but was good enough......held charley burley to a draw...and newspaper reports say he should have got a decision over a prime sugar ray robinson

    And Dougie, An older Georgie Abrams lost a razor decision to Marcel Cerdan
    which I saw at MSG. A helluva tough MW to beat...
