Trivia question. What was the last fight Ali predicted a stoppage and got it right?

I'm so sick of people assuming that nostalgia and rose-colored glasses are always involved, when one favors a fighter from the past - that is certainly not the case most of the time, at least from my pov. I don't really have favorite fighters, when I pick a fighter in a fantasy matchup, I just imagine the 2 guys in the ring & go with what plays out in my head. Skills are where it's at for me, all these people that always pick the more recent fighters don't understand what they're watching - if they actually watch fights.

Muhammad Ali had bad footwork, LOL never heard that one before! That's as funny as another one I heard recently: Joe Louis wasn't a hard puncher LOLOL man, you can't make this stuff up, mental midgetry at it's finest. Oh wait, don't want to offend anyone, let's call it intellectual dwarfism.

 

I don't remember where I read it, but I think the Gracie family was friends with Lee and they trained together.

I get what you're saying. There's actually a word for it: idyllic. It can be used to describe a time or place that people hold in high esteem even if they weren't there.

"(especially of a time or place) like an idyll; extremely happy, peaceful, or picturesque."

Either way that doesn't apply to me and 70's boxing. As I said, Ali isn't even my favorite fighter to watch and I don't think any of the points I made were just blinded by fanboyism. It's an objective fact Ali slowed down in the 70's and had good footwork at his best, so I'm not even going to dignify that with a response anymore.

On a side note, I do feel a connection to other time periods such as the 50's. I also enjoy hearing the way people talked in the 20's. We can barely call the speech of the average person English nowadays.
