    I think I don't get a shorter connection.

I tried that too. Didn't work. Always a blind end somewhere, at least when I tried.

    Jack Blackburn--Harry Greb--Maxie Rosenbloom--Alberto Lovell-Archie Moore-Muhammad Ali-Larry Holmes

Blackburn had his first listed fight in 1900 which is technically the last year of the 19th century. My guess he probably had a few unlisted fights in the 1890's.

As is listed at boxrec, the April 1900 bout is claimed to be his "maiden fight", according to primary source.

If thats the case (which I believe is true) then Berbick cant be counted as fighting in the 21st century for fighting in 2000.

I didn't really think of the year 1900 as being part of the 19th century - but I see, that you are actually correct. And in that case, this counts as another 5-name connection. Good find! :good

I guess, you're right about that - but if you put in Larry Holmes instead of Berbick, Baclava's Tommy Shea connection is still good.

wouldn't really matter because I can change Berbick into Larry Holmes.

Edit: B. just mentioned it anyways.

I wonder if someone will come up with a 3 name connection.
