Louis in his autobiography called his right hand that he ko'd Braddock with the D.O.A.

However be interested to see the evidence for the The Kiss of Death nickname, as the handlers/advisors of Louis were very keen on nothing about Louis was to be 'controversial,' to distance him from a certain Mr J Johnsons behaviours/actions.

The Kiss of Death phrase having strong mafia connections.

I am happy to be educated on any boxing history, but if you got the nickname courtesy of a Foxy Childs article alone, then i will stick with The Brown Bombers version of his right hands name.

Here's an easy trivia. Between May 59 and March 66 (almost 7 years) who's the only fighter to be in a HW Championship fight besides Liston, Ingo, Clay/Ali, or Patterson?
If anyone's having trouble forget the WBA Terrell-Machen-Jones-Chuvalo fights...

You got it. London was the May 59 challenger which excludes him. McNeely! Jeez, almost 7 years and it was only those 4 save TM.?

Nope, what Louis said is, and I quote,"but I knocked him out with a punch we called the D.O.A[dead on his ass],in the gym when I was an amateur." page 119. Joe Louis My Life . He wasn't referring to his right hand but to the type of punch ,and his right hand was never known as, "The Kiss Of Death," either , that's just some misinformation taken from an unknown hack .
