Pep wasn't stopped in his first 136 fights - but so far Gavilan is in the lead with 143.

Well that ruled out my next pick of Pedro Carrasco then!

The only thing I've got to equal Gavilan is Johnny Dundee, another with 143.

I believe, that Dundee actually didn't lose inside the distance in his first 156 fights - which now is the number to beat.

Huh, my count was 143 before he lost in one to Jackson.

    I'm not complaining though!

I think, maybe you didn't count the fights labeled "ND"? There are 13 of those before he lost to Jackson - which brings his total to 156.

Not a bad guess! Welsh went unstopped in 161 fights - before losing inside the distance to Benny Leonard (for the first and only time in his career).

161 is now the number to beat!

Nope. Looked it up. Suffered a compartively early stoppage in 1928.

Which is one more fight than my next guess, Panama Al Brown. He went unstopped in 160.

    Midget Wolgast?

EDIT: **** he had a KO in his 5th, otherwise he'd take the lead.

...But did suffer a DQ loss in his 136th fight. Forgot about that particular provision.

Yeah, there are a bunch of guys who suffered early stoppage losses like Freddie Miller.

Nah, DQs stopped him. He'd have been my guess too.
