I feel ya, i've had 7 or 8 opponents in the last 12 months pull out of fights. That's roughly HALF of all my fights in the last year. I've only ever pulled out of a fight once, 2 yrs ago, due to a concussion. It upsets me that guys don't feel no ways about doing that, considering their opponent is training hard, and they are letting down their own club.

BTW - off topic: I heard Alberta's gonna get in on the WBC Canada nationals tournament action. Have you heard the same thing? This year and last, we've had Ontario vs. BC showdowns. I am hearing about AB and SK getting in on it. That would be awesome.

    This problem is everywhere.

Last tournament/exhibition I went to, my buddies opponent was their for weigh-in, got matched with him, then was nowhere to be found when the first fight on the card started.

It was the same in the UK 35-40 years when I boxed and it hasn't changed despite or because of sites like warrior where records/ages can be found to make matching up easier.

Have you ever considered going pro? Getting a fight is the same as getting a date but easier than getting ***.

Life puts obstacles in front of you to make sure you want what you say you want. Stay focused and ready. Your time will come.

A lot of people have gone pro without amateur experience, personally from my own experience it's better to go pro these days because you are afforded a lot of leeway i.e clinching,it's much easier for an inferior fighter to fight a superior fighter in the pros because he can get away with things that he couldn't get away with in the amateurs rules are meant to be broken or at least they are loosely controled.

This problem seems to be leaking everywhere, in the White Collar and Amateur Circuit. I always find there is alot of people lying about their fight records to get easier opponents when really there records are much better than they say and the no-shows are just a joke, if you've said your going to fight, then fight its as simple as that, I hate people that say they will have a bout for the sake of their facebook status and twitter post but when it comes to it the haven't got any intention of fighting, there is so many messers in Amateur & White Collar boxing its a joke.

Ooh good one. I HATE Facebook boxers.
    Every gym HAS ONE.

Their profile pic is of them in a gym (and almost certainly without a shirt) and they post boxing slogans and they brag to their friends about how hard training is. But everyone at the gym knows they suck **** and have no real interest in training or competing boxing other than to be a poseur and pretend to be a boxer.

Yeah lol, in fighting pose with a really mean face, i mean come on, i genuinely find them offensive, i see people come in for their first session and truly truly work hard and push themselves and don't say a word, and they get in the ring and fight no problem, its just silly, I don't know who's worse the facebook boxers themselves lol, or the idiots that stick by them and fuel there stupidness
