Trout fought them both so his opinion should matter. He doesn't clearly take a side in this bout but at one point he says Cotto is the bigger puncher - which is a bit surprising to me. He predicts Canelo can take out Cotto early or if the fight goes the distance Cotto can cause a lot of troubles from 6th round onwards. [YT]Db5PyGqySBc[/YT]
Is Trout aware that Cotto has worse stamina than Canelo, he should since he took advantage of that weakness in both of them. But Canelo's seems to have improve whereas, Cotto was on his bicycle against Martinez in the late rounds choosing to counter as opposed to going in for the kill.
There's probably no better authority on the match-up, outside Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Jose Miguel Cotto.
...or Shane Mosley, or Lovemore N'Dou, or Alfonso Gomez. Wow. I didn't realize Cotto and Canelo had so many common opponents. :think
I cannot see Cotto winning this at all, I just see some furious exchanges with Canelos flurrying arms leaving Cotto in a daze. Can't see Cottos power bothering the ginger one either. If Cotto pulls this off then I will pull a waynes world/ Alice cooper
Cotto throws straighter punches. In particular his left hook is more compact than Canelos. With the Freddie Roach X-Factor, Cotto has some things in his favor. It's a 60/40 with Canelo taking the edge based on having the fewer Ring miles.
Fight of the year material? The winner fights Mayweather. Come on... the winner fights Mayweather, right? That This content is protected what's going to happen, no?
