I think its clear now the fight wont happen. Mundine has asked Trout via twitter why there are extra stipulations and he didnt honour the original verbal agreement. no response from trout yet
saw that on twitter. what a crock these 3 fight options are. as if Mundine should sign a contract with that crap in it. its amazing the sanctioning bodies allow that
Trout isnt looking to good on this one but the Danny Green fans dont give a rats ass about that, all they see it as is another way to put sht on Mundine for trying to get a shot at a legit title which is a fck load more than what the guy they currently barrack for is doing, Mr IBO i want as many titles as i can get but wont fight the guys that hold them. Balls in Trouts court now, Mundine has been upfront about whats occured and people should respect that, get on board and support this fight to occur, one would think that some of the Danny lovers dont even want Mundine to fight Trout. Dont mistaken me for a Mundine fan either, i give respect when its due and he is genuinely trying to get it on with Trout, if Danny did the same with Huck and Cunningham id also be supporting him but unfortunatly he is not. Trout knows he wont get bigger money anywhere else however his promoter/manager isnt sure Trout can win in Australia so he wants a lotto Ticket on Mundine, being that he makes Millions each fight no way would he sign it, the same reason Danny wouldnt sign the Beyer Rematch contract and it went to the WBC to handle sort it all out. Eventually the same will occur with Trout, Mundine wants that title and when he sets his mind on something he achives it as has been proven in the past, he did afterall defeat Danny Green and did it very easy. Danny got a boxing lesson that night
If BOXA can't get this fight made, the ridiculous Pioneer thing they seem so intent on goes out the window - there is no plan 'B'. For that reason I wouldn't write it off completely just yet.
While the demands (if true) are ridiculous, it should never result in Mundine going from fighting someone like Trout to someone ranked in the 90's, and you can bet that thats pretty much what will happen.
If they can't get this fight made the going down 3 divisions 'Pioneer' thing is shot. He'd then return to middleweight. Take on the nickname 'The Mechanic', and fight tune-ups until they could buy a crack at Geale's IBF title.
He claims he is going after #2, #3 or #4 so we shall soon see what this game is all about come his next fight? yes..?
Well if he doesnt fight a top 10 contender his next fight ill be the 1st one shouting from the roof tops that he is a fraud.
Other than the Geale fight when has Anthony Mundine fought a genuine contender for a legit world title in the last 4 yrs or so ?
But this fight with Trout is apparently not going ahead. So time after time after time Anthony fights nobodies while saying that he is going to conquer the world and win titles at lower weights etc etc blah blah blah and he never actually goes ahead with what he claims. You say that you will be happy to call him a fraud if his next fight is another nothing fight. Can I ask you this mate - How come it has taken this long before you would consider calling him a fraud when this was imo obvious many years ago.
Agreed, Francis, the ball is not in Mundine's court when it comes to negotiating with world champions and big hitters on the world stage, he is a largish fish in a very small pond and all that he brings to the table in serious negotiations with top ten players is money if he wants to fight them here. He answers to them, not calls the shots, yet this is the charade he has been hiding behind, trying to have the public believe that the big names 'he wants to fight' won't meet his demands and price themselves out. Well, on the world stage, he is a pissant, and is not worth the trouble of all his demands as he brings nothing to the table, and his demands indicate that he does not want to fight the worlds best as he doesn't even want to spend the money or come to a compromise considering that he will only fight on the Queensland NSW border.
