It's funny reading that sentence alone about the IBO ordered rematch as how can you take what the IBO does seriously.

It doesn't really matter how serious it's taken, the fact is Mandy declined.

He was happy to fight Soliman 3 times for no apparent reason, yet isn't interested in a mandatory rematch with Geale to keep a belt.

It's all nice and well to not take the IBO seriously on one hand, yet Mandy huggers will be quick to point out winning the belt in the first place.

A one armed echols, give me a ****en brake, mandy has done more than most aussie boxers, certainly done more for the sport, achieved a pretty damn good career (far greater than geales at this stage) and is still having a plug., And the ramblings of fools that don't agree doesn't make it so! Fact is, he is the man! Always has been, always will be, picked aussie boxing back from nothing, had a solid career, some good wins, few gimme fights like most (pick any random 20 of geales fights if u like, including his most recent fight).

You guys make out that any time a fighter doesnt fight the very top fighter every time they are a fraud, who the **** did chris john just fight? (or who does he ever really fight besides gift vs jmm?) Who the **** did Green fight (and win, not the clear losses when he fought someone good)
If you pick the resume of ANY fighter, EVER, there will be 60 percent bull**** fights that probably shouldnt have happend and where beneath them, its called BOXING, stop following boxing if you don't like it you dumn ****s lol

Mundine beat Geale go look up on boxrec

Geale did well to go win in Germany. But there is no way you can clearly state that it was a much better acheivement than when Mundine beat Echols. Yes in hindsight Echols was not all he was cracked up to be (like so many fighters), but neither is Sylvester - who won a vacant title with hand picked defences.

I am no Mundine nuthugger. Used to be, but Mundine did not step up and wasted great athletic ability. I watch and see how he goes, hope he can di ok in the twilight of career with minimum bullsh1t.

But you gotta state how it is mate. I know wer can get passionate about fighters but it is what it is.

that was at the tail end of lucas's career and sort of takes the shine of it for me.

echols and lucas fought to a draw so u could consider them as similarly gifted and their resume seems to also be similar in terms of quality faced.

I'm not interested in 6 degrees of separation.

And I'm not holding Greens win up like a candle in the night.

Green much like Geale went into the lions den to win a big fight.....that takes courage.:good

    Fair enough.
Mundine went to Germany in his 11th pro bout to challenge for title with no am experience. I'm not trying to get into an argument over this but I do agree with altogethernow that the man always gets dogged.

I don't think too many are criticising Mandy for the first half of his career.
It's the second half which is the problem (aside from Kessler, Green, and Geale).
The **** that dribbles from his mouth also plays a part.

Mandy has lost a lot of supporters over the years, and it's all his own doing.

I respected The Pioneer for both of those fights. He could (should) have won both. Otke did him on experience, The Pioneer turned amateur and paid and Kessler, well the Pioneer didn't believe he could win until after about the ninth and by then it was to late.

After that The Pioneer paved a hell of a path to becoming Australia's best domestic fighter not willing to make sacrifices to be recognized for what he could have become. His management can be blamed but ultimately The Pioneer is responsible for his own career and his legacy.
