Wow. Don't think anyone saw that from PBK.

Punch perfect, complete shut out. I actually thought the cards were a disservice to him, did enough to win 2 fights there.

I'm just a boxing fan but you don't need to like a guy to admire when someone puts in a performance like that.

Kelly bores the **** out of me just running around the ring with hands down, it gets boring to watch very quickly.

Still, nice to have fighting on c5.

Agree RE Price. Not nice to see the emotional toll the pre fight takes out of him. I hope with Kelly the engine issues were partly weight related, as he was way too big for 147. Let’s see how the power translates at this weight as I have concerns, but he did well tonight

There were a few rounds he took off where he did so much moving without punching that I thought Troy took them on hustle and aggression despite being almost completely ineffective with it, Kelly just spoiling and making him miss without making him pay a price, and minus the supremely commanding Pep factor to compel me to score for him on defense alone—rather than master generalship, it looked like what it was, a guy catching a breather.

He won the fight clearly, though, no doubt about that.

You had one good fight. Which was a whitewash. Relax kid.

nobody’s fault you want boxers to have a tear up for no money.

Unfortunately they won’t increase it. As they do not want to compete with the bigger boxing platforms. They definitely have scope to pick up a euro level fight though on similar purses paid last night.

however it would be a billam smith vs Bergeron type of fight.

the main thing for Sauerlands is to have a small 15-20 person stable and have them very active.

once someone like Kelly is in position for eliminators they could potentially go back and ask for an increased budget.

There are great fights on Channel 5 all the time while Deadzone UK produce one dross UK card every 2 months.

Sky Sports, BT Sports and Channel 5 boxing has made Deadzone UK even more of an irrelevance for the 20-30 diehard subscribers.

Deadzone UK - the worst value £7.99 subscription in the world.

For me that was the performance and turnaround of the year from Josh Kelly last night.

After previously watching Troy Williamson outlast, outslug and knock Cheeseman out and Kelly fade out after starting fast against Avanesyan, I was pretty much expecting a similar outcome here but Josh produced the best performance of his career.

Some really good domestic matches that could be made here over the last twelve months.

I would like to see Josh fight Ted Cheeseman just so he can send the wife beater into permanent retirement.

I agree, I had it exactly as you said, Williamson late on, but Kelly made him look basic, and he wasn't affected by his pressure, the takeover didn't happen, and I (and a fair few others) were proved wrong. Kudos to Kelly.

Terrific little fight on free television!

Just read through the whole thread and by reading the bloke @Sap1en you'd have thought it was the rumble in the jungle

Total mismatch. Williamson was turd. He couldn't get near him and didn't have anything like a plan B he was shocking was the fella. The posts in the thread were more entertaining than the fight it was truly abysmal. Kelly has proved he is well above this level and he's a lovely fella loved his interview after.

Throwing Kelly in with Avanesyan in just his 12th fight after he'd already come up short against Ray Robinson was absolute madness when you look back now. But that could have been the reality check he (and Booth) needed and will do him good in long run. Despite not matching the hype, he is still clearly above domestic level and can certainly do something with his career. His hands down style and lack of power still gets him folded in half again though when he really steps up.

Agreed, it was Booth arrogance IMO. Around the same time he was on IFL proudly proclaiming that he’d have no problem throwing Kelly in with Khan or Brook right there and then.

Of course that was bravado but just hyping him up like that can’t have helped matters, probably just fed into Kelly believing his own hype.
