Wtf are you on? lmfao, how badly was Floyd criticized for fighting Maidana, and that was for the WBA title.

Uhhh, by a surprising amount of people, flοmos, cotto fans, this forum, etc. Some people feel his chin is unproven since he's never faced a top-quality opponent. Where have you been?

 

LOL I've rarely seen anyone post this. He's been chin checked by Steven's HARD, and it completely unfazed him. Whether Steven's is a top-quality opponent, he hits among the hardest in that division When you say a surprising amount of people you must be talking about like 3 people .

But honestly the only reason you said that is to try to hype this fight even more. You know it's not true that his chin is criticized the most. If anything it's his opponents and defense.

 

Remember when this discussion wasn't about Floyd? In any case, the reason I think he got a lot of stick for that was the whole Maidana/Khan fan poll thing.

I personally didn't mind it. Like you said, he had a world title.

 

Remember when you said you said "This is one of the first times I've seen a fighter criticized for taking on someone with a world title...". Well I'm giving you another example. It doesn't matter if you criticized it or not, a **** ton of people did. Also remember Maidana won all of the other polls. Just not the one the Khan army were sent to.

 

I'm from the UK and wasn't on this forum at the time; I wasn't really privy to those other polls.

Mayweather's case is an individual one anyway.

 

Shame on HBO for putting this fight on PPV........................yes, it's a good fight and should be on HBO prime time no doubt, but PPV? PPV is killing boxing. You have to pay and absurd price to subscribe to HBO, the HBO gets greedy and besides all the money you spend subscribing to HBO, they want even more money.....................perhaps the winner of Cotto/Alvarez would be PPV worthy, but not at $100........................

 

I've read posts/tweets/comments from people who feel Golovkin's chin hasn't been tested. I think he has a granite chin, but I've seen some people question Golovkin's ability to take a flush shot from a top quality opponent.

Perhaps criticized is a harsh word to use regarding his chin. I'll say speculate instead.

 

This will be PPV, but Oscar has said the price will be geared for the fans and under 50$. With a stacked undercard, I bet it will be a good deal.
