Thinking about this the other day but alot of the times statistics dont paintt he true picture for example- Most believe Floyd got beat by Castillo, and Lewis beat Holfyield twice- True record------------------------------Official Record F.Mayweather 42-1-------------------------43-0 L. Lewis 42-2-------------------------------41-2-1 Anymore?
what's your scorecard. The only full scorecard I've ever seen having Castillo winning was exactabox's My score card rnd: Floyd-Castillo 1: 10-9 2: 10-9 3: 10-9 4: 10-9 5: 10-9(close round, it becomes obvious that Floyd's shoulder was hurting, but he landed most of the (legal) punches while Castillo cut the ring off well) 6: 9-10 7: 9-10 8: 9-9 9: 10-10(I watched it twice and don't know who to give it to. Floyd showed good defense and landed cleaner, but Castillo showed aggression and cut the ring off good) 10: 8-10 11: 10-9 12: 10-9 (Interesting round, Castillo landed more shots, but yet again, half of them are below the belt. I would have given it to him based off ring genralship, but Floyd stole the round in the last minute) 115-112
Scorecard? It's definitely a cliche, most people don't seem to have really watched the fight or just repeat it being said. It was a very poorly called fight by HBO (and as usual Leaderman)
deal The Ring also had Castillo winning they even had Castillo as fighter of the month cause of his performance, and they made an article talking about recent bad decisions and their main focus was the first Floyd-Castillo fight and the Tapia-Medina fight.
You say the ring as if they are any more credibile than any other journalistic source (many of which had mayweather winning) Post your scorecard, because I find it hard to see how people had Castillo, especially people talking as if he won by some wide margin Mayweather swept the early rounds, was well and truly roughed up in the middle rounds, then did well to win some of the latter rounds. People go ape**** because it's the closest Floyd has ever come to a loss, Pernell Whittaker syndrome.
Any other records, how about R. Bowe? Should he heave two more losses against Golota or was he justified in winning by DQ.
I had Floyd-Castillo a draw. I can see any one of three cards without a problem. But trying to re-write the history is pretty daft.
No Bowe should not have had losses, as Golota lost his mind and decided to fist Bowe's crotch. Chavez should have had a loss to Whittaker, as should DLH, and Chavez arguably should have lost to Taylor. But I can see the referee's reasoning.
Its been a awhile since I saw it but this basically how I remember the fight . . . and i think that is the score I gave it. It was a close fight and it mostly Haters that say he lost. The Guy makes such a big deal about being undefeated that people will always look for kinks in his armor.
