Thinking about this the other day but alot of the times statistics dont paintt he true picture for example-

Most believe Floyd got beat by Castillo, and Lewis beat Holfyield twice-

    True record------------------------------Official Record
    F.Mayweather 42-1-------------------------43-0

    L. Lewis 42-2-------------------------------41-1-2

    Anymore?

How did people see Lewis vs Mercer on scorecards? I was a kid back then but remember Mercer really setting about him.

Many believed he lost to Ted Lowry and Roland LaStarza in their first fight

AH love your knowledge.......maybe need to rewatch it, i know the americans thought it was a draw.

Most had it 5 to 5 but i thought Lennox sneaked it.

Always thought the Lasatrza fight was officially a draw but then at that time they want to have more conclusive results and let the ref pick a winner after the 3 judges gave it as a draw.

Dont know about the Lowry fight, anyone got it on tape?

Does this changed people perceptions? For example if Floyd was 42-1 instead of 43-0...?

Also Floyd win over Oscar De La Hoya for me was by just one round, easily could have been a draw.

Thanks mate :good, I will have to rewatch it myself.

    Great thread, interesting stuff.

I was going to post Michael Brodie true record, I mean the Jorrin fight was a robbery but then i even the score because i felt Simon Ramoni beat Brodie by a wide margin and i know i wasn't only one..

I had Floyd winning the first fight against Castillo. I know i'm in the minority on that but just felt he edged a tight battle.

Yes, maybe its the americans who value aggressive fighters....thing with Floyd fights are they are close.

The De La Hoya fight was very close, not much in it.

I'm at work now, I'll try post it when i get home tonight or if someone else could that would be great.

Yeah JMM and Martinez are good ones, Martinez won against Cintron two times in one night . Pacquiao as well against Marquez, Does Marquez take 2 wins from Pac record?. I think so myself or maybe even 3!.

I felt Floyd beat Oscar with room to spare personally, Sound like a big Floyd fan but just felt he settled and controlled after Oscar lost his way and took the fight 116-112 on my card IIRC.

I genuinely believe Oscar edged it.

Marquez has beaten Paqciauo twice IMO.
