Well that's a fair point but consider that Lemieux for example was stopped by Rubio only because Rubio managed to soak up a barrage of punches leading to David's gassing. Not exactly a definitive stoppage. Canelo's face first style is not going to be so healthy for him when his opponents hit way harder than the 154's and in some cases are way bigger than him, like Murray who I still can't work out how he made 160.

With all due respect, bjs is a poor mans Lara. With that being said I still list bjs as a -150 to -175 favor at 160 over Canelo. Bjs is bigger but by no means as fast or crafty as Lara. Lara flat out schooled Canelo.

Last time I checked Canelo was a counter puncher.

I think quillin is close, maybe in canelo's favour and I think he beats rosado but other than that I agree.

Canelo is one of the best at 154 but thats partly because its such a weak division right now. He doesnt have power at 160 and his movement and footwork are not good enough when pitted against a real top level middleweight.

Nobody is Floyd but numbers and watching the fights tell you he has some of the best defensive movement in his weight range. It's more to defense than being able to move your feet

No Floyd? Well neither is anyone at 160. :patsch

You seriously don't know Canelo is a Counter Puncher first?

His best performances have been when he's using his counter punching skill set. His most difficult fights have been when he needs to pressure.

LOL, and 160 is deep in talent right?

Canelo would wreck everyone at 160. There is no money at 160 besides GGG.

Certainly more money than at 154. Lemieux, Jacobs, Eubank jr are all bigger money fights than anyone at 154, regardless of how you think they match up skill wise.

False. Welterweight Amir Khan was able to touch Canelo a bit. A full sized middle like Danny Jacobs, would probably stop Canelo somewhere in the second half of the fight, outboxing him the whole way.

Does the fact that Khan is a way better/accomplished boxer or that Khan was wayyy faster than Jacobs not come into play when making your assessment?

This goes back to my previous post when looking at strengths and weaknesses, everyone will cite oh but Mayweather yet no one you mention has the speed or defensive capabilities as Floyd or Khan his jab yet don't mention Khan is one of the fastest if not the fastest guy out right now and no one you mention at 160 has the speed of a Khan or Lara or even Cotto for that matter. The things that have given Alvarez trouble are not in the styles of the guys he can fight at 160 and if they do have a good style none have the physical attribute to pull a Mayweather.

If Alvarez can effectively counter blazing guys like Khan why would you assume a slower less skilled guy would have better success

The 154 pound Andrade destroys Canelo not to mention some of the bigger 160 pounders
