Its too late for Floyd, he just gave up fighter of the decade to Pacquiao without even knowing it.

 

Pac is the bigger star. I was surprised JMM v PBF did as well as it did. I hope the fight gets made, I think PBF wins this fight but he needs to make it. I can only defend PBF so much, he is ****ing annoying when the fights dont get made, he is damaging his legacy. He could have fought Cotto a long time ago and gave Cotto his first loss but he wasnt interested. Now others came along and are stealing his glory.

PBF should be fighting Mosley in January anyways. He would beat him so I dont know what the hell is wrong with him. Not everyone is going to give him an 80/20 split like JMM so he needs to cut the go bull****.


Actually I think that is just it, when it is only about the money that is the problem. He probably makes almost as much fighting JMM at 80/20 than he would fighting Mosley at 50/50. Even though the sales would be more he would have to share more so it cancels out.

Right now, it's Floyd who needs Manny. Manny's been earning his greatness in the ring. Floyd's just been earning a pay check and is running out of options. Manny has the respect and love of fans and peers, and accomplishments that Floyd still wishes he had. If Manny retired right now, there aren't any real complaints one could have. If Floyd retired right now, well, we saw what happened last time.

 

Floyd didn't beat anyone to get to #1. It was Hopkins losing that did it.

I chose false because I don't think your question is complete. I would ask: Needs Pac (or the reverse - Floyd) more for...what?

 

Considering the amount of criticism from the media and the fans about Floyd's choice of opponents since he moved up in weight, I'd say Floyd needs to step up the level of his opponents (Pac or Shane) if he wants to avoid losing respect he definitely needs to fight one of them or maybe fight someone from a higher weight division (like williams, who I honestly dont think can't make 147 anymore)

Pac, on the other hand pretty is at a point where anything he does from now on is just an addition to a very solid legacy.

I'm talking legacy wise of course. Money wise, he probably doesn't need Pac, he can make lots of money fighting lesser fighters. But I don't care about that, I won't get any of that money anyway...

Having said that, Pac-Floyd is a fight that boxing needs I think.
