Do you realise that when Floyd was coming up in the late 90’s-early 00’s, you had guys like Pea, Oscar, Shane and Tito in the top 10 P4P rankings?

    They were all great fighters.

At this stage, Crawford and Spence don’t look any better than what Oscar and Shane looked like at the lower weights when they were prime.

    You need to apply context.

Those guys aren’t fighting Shane, Pea, Tito and Hopkins like Oscar did.

    They’re fighting faded Brook’s and Khan’s etc.

I can’t see Marquez beating Crawford, but we don’t know.

I know, the same Marquez who lost to Tim Bradley for Christ's sake.

This has turned into a good debate.

Again, we’ve got to be fair.

    We’ve got to be objective.

This is why I’m telling you that these comparisons of different fighters and eras are hard.

You’ve got to apply the relevant context and look deep into things.

    It’s not easy to do.

    Let’s look at Marquez:

    Yes, he lost to Bradley.

However, Bradley was a very good fighter, it was right at the end of Marquez’ career, and it was above his best weight.

Again, we don’t know what’s going to happen in the future with Crawford and Spence.

I do agree with you though, that the version of Marquez who fought Bradley would lose to the current Crawford.

    I absolutely believe that.

A fight at LW may have been different, but Crawford would have had very big physical advantages over him.

Quartey had a better jab than Crawford by miles. Power was comparable, Crawford probably has better movement I'll give him that.

But when comparing resumes, they are leagues apart. Quartey fought Vargas, De La Hoya, Forrest, Wright, and Lopez. Even some of his secondary fights were better than anything on Crawford's resume like Oba Carr and Vince Phillips.

No he is the same guy. There is a reason they are avoiding certain types.

I think Quartey stops Bud who has never fought anybody as good as Quartey yet.

Prime De La Hoya & Cotto washes Crawford. Semi-prime Canelo was at 154 - 160, he beats Crawford. Marquez is SKILLED, if Crawford doesn't use his physical advantages & just makes its skill for skill, Marquez beat him.

Of course, this is all just our opinions.

Bud would have toyed with Carr and Vargas was ruined by his team throwing him in with Tito while he was still green, he never got a chance to develop into a world class fighter.

Prime fighters still lose, that doesn't mean that they are still not in their prime...especially when they are fighting other prime fighters. There has to be a winner and a loser in a fight.

Floyd is my favorite fighter but who he's beat that was prime? He beat alot of semi-prime fighters or fighters leaving their prime and credit for that

P.S. You really think Oscar lost to Tito & Pacquaio lost to Bradley? Oh and Paquiao prime was his 140-147 run, not his lower weigh run.
