He was a beast of a man. Not many compare strength wise, especially for his size.

Yes he was, he was by far the strongest heavyweight champion,..and as for the two mentioned in that opening post, ...Bruno would have been ko'ed so brutally, he wouldn't have known what hit him...he'd have been miraculously quoting Shakespeare in his dressing room after coming to, and making motions like he was serving tea to the Queen, ...and as for Valuev, ....GF would have mauled the giant, like he did big Jack O'Halloran way back in the early 70's.

They were just big, muscled up men, like Ken Norton, though not as much a "body beautiful" like Ken. Their strength wasn't as functional as Foreman's. Neither man would have seen round 6 vs GF.

In a strictly “boxing specific” sense George was the strongest world level fighter I have seen.

Clearly there are stronger men in a lifting sense but probably not in a boxing sense. He’s the guy who hit hardest using the least leverage. And he didn’t knock that many out cold either. Probably because he had a bruising raw ability to hurt a guy enough before that happened.

Among elite fighters, most likely. His second career only proved that.

There are some other good mentions, but Foreman is likely the best.

I guess so but Ali manhandled his @ss.

    Ali's strength is underappreciated.

It’s difficult to pick anyone over Foreman.

    The correct answer.

I'd however put money on guys like AJ, the Klitschkos and Lewis being 'stronger'. They were shredded and had 30+lb on him.
