True or False: Getting knocked unconscious by a punch = glass jaw?

There are some out there who are definately weak chinned but to some on here, any time a fighter is KO'd, they're instantly "glass-jawed", regardless of whether they just took about 300 punches on the way to being knocked out.

I think a defining characteristic would be getting knocked unconsious very quickly or knocked down from relatively weak punches i.e. Amir Khan.

 

Lewis, minus a couple of punches would be universally regarded as having an unbreakable jaw.

As it happens, many class it as shaky.

False if you take the thread title literally. Anyone can be knocked out by a solid/perfect punch to the chin, if it was a fantastic punch that doesn't mean you have a glass chin.

Glass chin is a term do describe people pre-disposed to getting KTFO. It's like Herpes, you have it or you don't.

Yes, absolutely. Getting knocked out cold is the DEFINITIVE indicator of a glass jaw. What really shows a glass jaw is not that fighters end up on the canvas, but what happens after they get there.

 

NO. There are those rare perfectly placed punches that can knockout anything, even a ****in buffalo.. Some punches will knock out anybody cold.

if some 1 with the kind of power as julian jackson and workrate like paul williams was landing countless punches at fighter X whos chin was above average theres no freakin way that x will make it through the fight its scientifically impossible

He may have been "conscious", but he had no recollection of what happened.

I don't see anyone questioning his chin.

Mike Quarry's chin wasn't glass. He looked dead when Bob Foster hit him. Michael Dokes's chin wasn't poor. Ruddock's hooks had Dokes looking like a corpse.
