I will try to not be biased,

Mayweather, by taking Baldomir, could win 8 million bucks, plus the WBC and Ring title.

Margarito was for 8 million and for the WBOgus belt. He had no accomplishments, but was a dangerous fighter.

I think it was a smart risk-reward decision. But it wasn't ducking.

True, with regards to the offer. Lil Floyd not only played the matchup safe...when he fought Baldomir is was a PPV stinker with Floyd on his bicycle.

:yikes Did you just say Floyd Baldomir was a ppv stinker? you can't be serious! Over 400,000 buys thats not bad thats all Floyd. The fight sucked but the numbers were not bad.:rasta Put it down and stop hating on the guy already.Fight Balodmir for belts and same pay day or fight Margo just to fight? Is it really a question.

yes he did decline but there was more to then that , some here will not except the fact, that floyd decline 8 mill because it was part of a contract deal he and Arum was working on that fell through , Arum himself even states this. it wasn't ducking it was business..

The fight sucked...that makes it a PPV stinker...Barerra vs. Juarez was also a stinker but it made some money too.

Lil Floyd promised a KO of Baldomir, but he backpeddled all night to win a clear and easy points victory. No problem...but he promised a KO, which means he pretended he was going to be aggressive to sell the fight, come fight not promises to his fans and the public weren't on his mind.

I don't hate Lil' Floyd, I just quit buying his fights after the Baldo let down. He's worth millions, but he's not worth my $50...I don't care who he fights.

Top I believe his right hand was also hurt during the fight in the middle rounds and he stopped throwing it and poy shot with the left. No excuse just fact. We all knew Floyd or anyone else is not ko Baldomir.

If you're not biased, then you should post factual information. You are presenting it like Floyd compared both fights side by side, and chose Baldomir. That is 100% false. Floyd turned down Marg BEFORE Goosen even offered the $8 mil for the Baldomir fight. This was not a situation of Floyd choosing Baldo over Marg. Floyd turned down Margo point blank, and then the Baldo fight came up afterwards......

I don“t know why boxing fans want all of these good fights when its the PPVs that really matter.

You can say Mayweather was right to fight Baldomir. He had the more recognised titles. But really, it's disappointing. Margarito was clearly the bigger challenge. As fans I think we should care more about that than the politics of it all.

almost spot on . except you forgot to mention the attempt to make a fight with spinks. which really clears up the b.s being spouted by some that he chose baldomir.

in fact, the offer was on the table until arum got tired of waiting for a response, and they signed the clotey fight. that is when pbf went olooking for spinks, and then baldo.

and the arum offer was without options. and even floyd never disputed that.

And yet those pesky little fans want to see the best available fight, not just the easiest one that also pads the checkbook and legacy of their favorite fighters.
